Best deal $$$/value I could find after hours of searching online/retail. Brand New 500W = 250W x 2 8-channel powered mixer with reverb and decent specs for only $199. Great job ADORAMA !

Solid. Replacement for the blown amp that went with speaker pair.

Exactly what I needed

I was looking for a small, portable, powered mixer for amplifying quiet soundscape recordings and for light amplification of our mostly-acoustic duo (cello, harp, guitars, tin whistles). The PMP500MP3 serves this purpose as long as you do not expect too much power.

What I like: Compact and light weight. Sound clarity is good. I am not aware of any comparable product at this price. The cooling fan is very quiet, almost inaudible except at high power levels, when music volume would drown it out anyway. I am using this in part to amplify very quiet soundscape recordings, so a quiet fan is essential to me. Noise levels in general are good.

What I do not like: The power is not what Behringer advertises. The manual does not specify the speaker impedance at which it is supposed to have 250 watts per channel of peak power. But the speakers they recommend are 8 ohm speakers, so I assumed it would deliver 250 watts into 8 ohms. I compared it side-by-side to a 200W EMX powered mixer into two 8 ohm speakers, and the PMP500MP3 has about a third the power (-5 dB) of the EMX. I think of it as a 63 watt per channel amp, not 250 watts.

I also found the level potentiometers quite scratchy when first used, but after a few rotations they quieted down. 

I do not have any use for the reverb (which is mediocre quality), the wireless mic inputs, the MP3 player or the VOP feature, so I have not tested those features and could have done without them, especially if removing them could have allowed Behringer to boost the power a bit while maintaining the price.

I was tempted to return it based on the lower-than-advertised power, because I hoped it might replace our much larger EMX212, but will keep it for small venues and for home practice.
