This tripod is what I was looking for - solid, strong enough to hold a camera with a heavy zoom lens, and all parts easily tighten for no movement when needed. I like the flip lock legs as they open and close up quickly and are easy to clean off if there is any sand or dust. Overall seems to be well made and of high quality. The carrying case seems solid enough. The case doesn't zip up completely if the pan/tilt handles are attached to the head, but you can leave a handle sticking out or the handles and be easily removed if desired. However the tripod also came with a separate carrying strap. One end attaches to a loop on the tripod and the other end goes around the legs, so I'll probably use that strap instead of the case anyway when carrying it in the field. One feature I didn't see listed in the advertising, but that I like as an option, is the center column can easily be removed and re-inserted from the bottom side of the tripod. This allows a camera to be mounted very close to the ground (although upside down) for macro or perhaps other shots with a unique perspective.
