I am an equine photographer and my lens that I primarily use wears out my arm in no time flat without the monopod. For me that is within a couple of minutes since my rotator cuff surgery last year. The only complaint I have is it does not pan very well with me. It releases the leg and will shorten up without me realizing it. Other than that I love it!

First let's get the secondary feature out of the way. They describe it as being used as a walking stick which I would not do. It's rated for a max load of 20-22 lbs which is not enough for any reasonable amount of force a human can put on it. It will shorten on you. It's not like I'm hiking in the Adirondacks with it either. As a monopod for your set-up, it seems to work just as intended. The hyperlock system was what impressed me about this as I don't want to take too much time opening/closing every single clasp, but I would still double check to see if they're all locked properly.

LOVE IT!

The WalkAbout Air is MeFOTO's most lightweight and compact monopod yet. The WalkAbout Air can be operated with a single leg lock thanks to our new HyperLock leg lock design.
Each monopod handle features anodized aluminum, which is available in 7 finishes: Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red and Titanium.
The translucent handgrip has an adjustable wrist strap, which is great when using as a walking stick on hiking trails.
You can easily attach your camera or accessory to the 1/4"-20 thread at the top of the monopod. The WalkAbout Air is rated for a maximum payload of 22.1 lb and weighs just 0.9 lb.
What can you do with a monopod? A monopod is great for using as a stabilizer of cameras and long lenses. It provides maximum mobility, which is great for capturing sports and other live events.
