Shopper : I want to buy for an elderly person who calls Bingo on a bus, does it need batteries and can you control the volume?PROCUREMENT S : This powers by an XLR cable attached to an audio recorder or camera. At my work in lecture halls our instructors use a wireless headset that would work good for calling bingo. It's the HamiltonBuhl PA-25W Amp-Up! portable wireless personal PA system.Mike M : The microphone does not require batteries. It needs to be plugged into an amplifier and speakers in order to hear the person calling Bingo. The volume would e controlled by the amplifier, not by the microphone. Some buses will have an amplifier and speakers built-in that you can plug into. Otherwise, something like this Audio 2000s AWP6407 battery powered PA may be a better choice. Hope this helps!

Shopper : how do you connect it to the computer? michaelSHAYA T : computer? This is a professional microphone with an XLR (3 pin) jack on the bottom. It requires an XLR cable to use it. You would therefore need an XLR to Mini cable if you wish to use it for a computer.

Workhorse

At 20% the cost of a SM58 it is a great backup or primary announcement mic. If I was singing I would buy the Shure. It is rugged and it feels good in your hand but it doesn't have the presence rise that the more expensive mics have.
