I love my Manfrotto tripods - except for the standard rubber feet. I expected these retractable feet to be well built, but they're beyond that. And other than needing pliers to muscle one old foot off, putting the retractable feet on was a snap. (Well, actually you tighten a screw. But you know what I meant.) And from what I've found Adoramapix has the best value on them. My only knock is that there doesn't appear to be a reference table to find which feet go with what tripod(s). But they're worth doing the digging to get that info.

I am a landscape photographer, so I find the spikes useful. They appear to be well-made and the fact that they are stainless steel should improve their useful lives. Lowering the rubber feet is easy and there is a detente to prevent accidentally removing the rubber foot. Reason for 4 rating, is the tripod is new and I do not know how well the feet will hold up.

These feet came on my old tripod and I have always loved them, especially since I do a lot of winter, icy shooting the spikes are perfect. I upgraded to a carbon fiber and they do not come with them so this option worked wonderfully. Back in buisness.

These retractable spiked feet were easily attached, and time and again have allowed me to gain purchase on icy terrain. The spikes protrude significantly when at their stops, while at the opposite position, are fully retracted--even after the rubber portion has seen significant use. The rubber feet are very durable and pliable, and not prone to cracking in temperatures well below freezing. In three years of steady use, I've had no issues whatsoever, and recommend these to anyone who even sporadically is in need of greater traction on ice.

These are a simple addition to your tripod that do a lot to stabilize it if you're set up on bare ground.
