Questions & Answers

CHARLES S : Will these work on an Induro tripod?DON F : The design of these is such they should work pretty much any tripod. I was to the beach in Oregon late last hear. I put them on my tripod and then head for the water. Where I was shooting from was in the surf. I placed the tripod down and then proceeded to take my shoots. The wave would come in and rush out. I could feel the water attempting to take me out and ate away at the sand under my feet but the tripod stayed solid. From there I went up higher on the beach where the sand was dry and fluffy. The same was with the Tripod Shoes, the tripod did not sink into the sand even though it was difficult for me to even walk in the dry sand. I have not had a chance to use them in snow. If you should need to do that attempt to make sure the shoes are cold like the snow. If not they will melt the snow briefly and then freeze onto the shoes. That will make them difficult to pick up your tripod. I'm very satisfied with them. I purchased a small mesh bag to sto the shoes in.Kevin M : I haven't use these on it dural tripod. But the cord that wraps around the leg for attachment is somewhat adjustable. It seems like it should work on most tripods.JOHN D : They will work with most any tripod. They attach with a rubber strap which is heavy duty. On sand and snow the shoes are a must!!!
laurie l : I have a Velbon monopod, and am looking for something to just help steady it up a bit when using on a flat surface like a floor or on the street. Will these shoes work? Not sure I'm seeing exactly how they hold on to the monopod.RICK S : No, these will not help on a monopod. These were designed to work on a tripod to help it from sinking in sand or snow. You place a tripod foot in the shoe and stretch the rubber around the leg to secure it.DAVID S : I do not think these tripod shoes will work with a monopod. Your monopod should have it's own rubber foot or pointed foot. The monopod is designed for non-slip surfaces, like concrete, asphalt or carpet. A piece of carpet or rubber mat will work better than these tripod shoes. The tripod shoes are meant for snow or mud, and even have a hole if you have to "pin" them in place. They are designed to clamp at an angle-about 30deg-not straight up, to match the angle of the tripod legs.JOEL B : It doesn't really do anything for stability on hard surfaces. It'll keep a monopod from sinking into a soft surface, but that's about it. The bracket is angled to match the spread of tripod legs, and it'll grab onto the end of a monopod, but not quite as securely as to a tripod.ERIC M : Laurie, I wouldn't recommend these for use with a monopod. They are designed to prevent a tripod from sinking into snow or mud. The shoe would likely slide on floors or streets; the bottom has concentric ridges which help them stay in place in snow/mud.SCOTT E : These shoes have a rubber strap that wraps around the lower end of the tripod leg. The strap has a series of nubs that fit into a notch that allows the user to secure the shoes. I have only used them in the snow, but I don't see any reason why thay wouldn't work on solid surfaces,LINDA M : I bought these for a tripod to help keep the legs from sinking into snow and sand. I suppose they would work well for a monopod and give you a larger surface, they are like having a like a big foot. Each shoe has a little cup-like thing in the middle where you put the tripod leg and an adjustable strap that is attached a little higher around the leg to keep it on. They work really well for what I wanted, your need is a bit different but seems like they would work for that too. They would probably keep the leg from sliding or slipping. I think they come in sets of three, two spares??.ROSS H : Laurie, I have these and have tried to use them on sand dunes, which was my original purpose, and they failed to add any stability. On snow or soft ground they do very well. I'm afraid this won't be the answer you seek as the point of attachment is angled. That is for when the tripod is fully splayed. Also, the bottom is hollow with no rubber or gripping ability. It would simply be apt to slide on a smooth surface. In short, the answer is no, this would not be something suitable for a mono pod. You need something like an over-sized, pivoting, rubber foot. Hope this helps!GRAHAM S : The all weather shoes are designed to spread the load when a tripod is used on a soft surface, such as mud, sand or snow. I have used them on my tripod in snow, and they work great. However the seating for these feet is slightly angled for use with the angled legs of a tripod, not a monopod. So I don’t think they will hold on or sit very well to a vertical monopod. I would recommend looking at retractable spiked feet, which will do the job. They give you the advantage of both a metal spike and a rubber foot in one device. The spike can be retracted in to the swiveling rubber foot. Manfrotto make a range of retractable spiked feet that come in various sizes depending on the diameter of your monopod stem. They replace the standard rubber foot, and can easily be removed if required.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?GAVIN Z : I need something for my surfing photo sessions on the beach. These shoes have good reviews.MATTHEW D : To try stabilizing a light stand in sand.ARTURO C : Perfect for working in snow powder conditions as well as on sand.

Protect your tripod/photo gear

Had a set of these before and sold them regretfully. Bought another set, works best for the photo shoots at the beach or in snow scene's so the tripod legs dont sink under the weight of the photo gear.
