Slightly Wider than the Plastic Version

The metal chain is slightly wider than the plastic version. This is unfortunate as you can not use the counterweight supplied with the plastic chains. It is not a deal breaker and I am happy with the durability of the new metal chain.

These are way better than the plastic

You need a strong chain for he bigger backdrops and while this is not the chain you would use at night with a golf cart and a ATM machine it does really fine for the 10'X20' backgrounds.

Metal is it worth it?

If you can afford the metal chain it is the best. You may not need it if you are only using light weight backdrop material. The plastic chain will break on long runs or heavy material like canvas. The last thing most of us need is to have a hand full of plastic chain with no full loop and a background half way down and the client smiling at us. Still the price of the metal chain is obnoxious.
