Perfect crossbar. I didn't have any problems with adjusting the length. I bought two any used a 5/8th stud to join the bars, supported in the center with a C stand, hollywood arm and superclamp. Worked great, but you would need a center support. Hung the 20' fabric with spring clamps.

I bought this crossbar to use with 2 Flashpoint stands as a backdrop holder. I had used these items before and they are perfectly adequate for my needs.

So far so good- it did come with a heavy film of oil on it- wiped down before use- I don't think its function related- but rather to protect it in packaging for periods of time- I am using this for lightweight muslin currently- no issues- easy to store when not in use-

This holds quite the roll of paper or any other backdrop you might want to use. The swivel head on one end is perfect for aligning everything. Great piece. Works with any light stands and holds a ton.

The crossbar is very well made and is strong enough to support fabric backgrounds. The end pieces fit the 5/8" fittings on the top of my light stands. One end swivels so the bar is easily attached to the stands. I have also used it on my older 3/8" stands with 3/8" to 5/8" adapters. I am very pleased with the product. It was worth the extra expense compared to the much cheaper crossbars that are not continuously adjustable.

THe Manfrotto 272B crossbar is sturdy enough to support a king-size sheet for a backdrop without sagging. It is easily expanded and collapsed. It is perfect for even small spaces.

I purchased this crossbar to use with seamless paper. I currently use it with two of my Manfrotto light stands. A few rolls of seamless paper and I am in business taking some nice portraits of my 3 kids. I have only used it with 53 inch seamless paper, but it extends to accommodate wider rolls. It seems sturdy and don't think I will have any problems with this piece of equipment.

I purchased this based on recommendations. I'm using it to support a 9x18 pro-white vinyl backdrop with the single Manfrotto wall brackets. Had to modify the crossbar with a large bolt in each end to work with the brackets. I would like this crossbar better if there wasn't "sag" in the middle of my backdrop. I see another "mod" in my future.

Perfect for holding up backgrounds -- felt very secure even when extended all the way out

I was really looking for something collapsible that would extend without compromising the overall strength in any way. The pole simply requires a twist to lock action after it is pulled out to the required length and then twist and push to collapse again when not in use, keeping it clean around these areas would help keep it working smoothly too. It has a rotating support either end which will fit onto a simple light stand which can also be tightened securely to avoid being knocked off whilst in use. I haven't noticed any sagging whilst using the support either and honestly don't expect to see any in the future unless someone were to stand or fall on it! Whilst it is described as adjustable from 44" to 117" it may be worth noting that this is the overall length and NOT the size of rolls one could support. Supported sizes would be 42" to 114" at max. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars were simply because there's always something that can be done to improve products, just not sure at this time what they could be.

I don't have muslin or paper just yet but this cross bar works for many different backgrounds. I've even draped a comforter over it and it holds really well. I've also used it to hang some lights and dry fish. One day I caught my wife even using it to hang dry some of her clothes!

Easy to use, wish the screw that attaches the cross bar to a stand was a little longer.

Exceptionally well made to stand up to the most demanding use. Comes with sturdy clamps that worked very well with my Lowell stands.
