Works great as a quick release - have the quick release system on the camera plus my larger lens and then the mount on a tripod and this one on the monopod. Allows for quickly moving equipment around

The build quality of the Manfrotto 234RC is mostly made out of metal, with the tightening knob made out of hard plastic. Care must be taken to hold your camera when loosening the tilt knob. Also, it's worth noting that the base of this head is not wide enough to use the ant-rotation screws from most monopods or tripods.

Does what it’s designed to do. I use it on the end of a boom arm to mount a camera for overhead shooting. It’s particularly useful if you own and use manfrotto tripods, because the plate that mounts to the camera is the same, so that you can easily switch from light stand to tripod without removing the plate.

This is a great tripod head to use for top down photographing, simple to use and very strong.

The Manfrotto 234RC is just what I needed, for my overhead photo setup. Coupled with a Manfrotto Rapid Adapter, and attached to the Baby Pin, of my Flashpoint 10' C Stand, it helps provide a solid foundation, for consistant overhead shots. It was easy to install and allows for easy transitions, form "landscape" to "portrait" camera positions. The secondary safety lock, allows me, to attach my cameras, with a bit of added confidence.

I use this on a manfrotto monopod to support a Canon with a 100-400 telephoto. Love it. The quick release is perfect for dumping the mono if you need to; and the locking system is perfect for when you don't.

I own a lot of Manfrotto products. They are rock solid and last a lifetime. I expect to hand them down to my kids when I take my last photo here before starting up my photo life inside the pearly gates...

Works great, I use the Manfrotto monopod with this head almost exclusively, it makes it easy to manage my 400mm lens.

Like all the other Manfrotto gear I've used, this item is well made and does what it's supposed to do.

Works just as it should. I like the quick release system and that the camera can just pop off this head and go right on my other tripod. Steady and strong!

Great little head for my Monfroto monopod. The quick release is worth the cost alone and the additional movement of the head keeps me from doing acrobatic movements with my monopod. I regularly use if with a full frame Nikon and a 70-200 and it stands firm.

This is a decent lightweight head for simple run & gun type shooting. Works well for our students who need simple and low weight. Provides some stability for moves on the monopod. A level would make it 5 star.

I used this on a Manfrotto 680B for sports photography. I used to tip the monopod to tilt prior to getting this. Now, I'm spoiled, especially with the nice quick release plate. It's easy to swap lenses in the field.

This monopod head is very sturdy, features easy, logical operation and a joy to use. The only think you may want to be aware is that this version has only one camera attachment plate. Highly recommended!

This is the perfect head for mounting your camera to a Manfrotto monopole. I have the 234RC mounted on a Xpro prime and it feels very sturdy. Very easy to use and I like the quick release.

I purchased my first monopod to help steady and support a heavy lens I had recently gotten. It seems that buying a monopod is similar to buying a boat: - You can mount the camera (or in my case a lens) using the screw on top of the monopod, just like the boat will float in the water. Adding the optional motor allows you do do more with your boat. Adding an optional monopod head allows you to do more with your monopod. Having learned that lesson - I've found this item to be a well balanced in terms of quality, price and usability: 1. It has remained firmly affixed to the monopod mount screw, 2. Material and manufacturing quality are high 3. I like the safety on the quick release plate 4. Both the plate release lever and locking knob are large and easy to use. I could have spent more for a monopod head, but this one works for me.

I don't use this system. Purchased as a gift by request. Looks strong enough but very heavy. Recommend arcade system.

To be fair, I haven't used this in the field yet, but from what I've seen so far, I have no doubts that this will perform as required. It's built well and locks positively. I stuck a Nikon D610 with battery grip and 28-300 superzoom on it and it didn't flex or sag. Combined with the Manfrotto 679B, it's a well-built combination.

The mount is well made and does what it is advertised to do. However, it swivels on only one axis. That may be enough when it is used on a monopole, but in retrospect, I wish I had bought a ball mount which has more axes of movement.

The build quality is solid, house my Canon 80D and 70-200mm L ii without any problem, it tilts smoothly, strongly recommended.

This works well atop a monopod. It's lightweight and doesn't add to the top-heavy feel.

The Manfrotto swivel tilt Monopod Head with QR is a constant companion on my Manfrotto monopod. It has greatly improved my ability to get the shot by the ease of attachment and use. I recently found out how tough it is when photographing a local waterfall. I was trying to get to that special spot when I stepped in a hole and went down hard. What did I land on? My camera STILL attached to the monopod. It hit the ground before me and I landed on the monopod and then hit my head on the lens. The...

This is a great head for a monopod. It can be used in two directions (not at the same time). If you need to switch from horizontal to vertical just mount the quick release in that direction (there is an indicator on the bottom which tells you what direction the plate should face). If you need to tilt up or down it is great for that too as you can adjust the tension screw to add just the correct amount of friction. The head is rock solid and comes with a quick realese plate to mount on the ...
