What's to say. I ordered a Chinese knock-off by mistake once. Tossed it out and ordered the Manfrotto original. I have this on all my cameras and longer telephotos. I probably have 12+ and have given a few away to those that liked them so well.

solid and will hold a heavy camera steady (assuming the tripod's ball lock is strong)

The 410 plate predates the 410. It was sold with both the shown plate and the plate you would put on a tripod. You could buy them together or separately. It was a great improvement over most of the existing quick release plates. I first saw them in the early 90s, then the 410 tri-gearhead came out in the mid 90s. I hope the still sell both sides.

I’ve used several types of releases over the years but this one is hands down the best. Stability is key when shooting long exposures so why not use something quick and reliable.

I have been using this plate for various heads over the years. Probably the most ridged plate Mafrotto makes.. Just have to get used to the safety lock on the had as since they are made for more heavy loads the plates are stronger and it takes more energy to move the safety lock.. I have a geared head 405 and a pan tilt head, both feel stuck when attempting to release the latch to remove the plate from the head..

I use this Plate to make quick and easy camera changes on my tripod.

It's a solid plate and works with my tripod head. I prefer this to the more common quick release plate that's much smaller than this.

There is no point is spending a lot of money for a tripod and head if you're going to use a cheap mount. It would be like the weak link in a chain.

I use these RC4 connectors and plates because they are rock solid and I never have to worry, even if my camera is 20 feet in the air on a pole. I am a little disappointed that the plate that arrived does not have the threaded holes that are pictured coming from the bottom to the top of the plate. I have one like pictured and it is handy for attaching my Blackrapid strap to the camera or lens without having to remove the plate. I specifically looked at that before ordering the plate.

Works with the Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head. I have two of these tripod heads and I own a plate for every attachment I use with those heads. I like the fact that this plate comes with two different sized screws - I ended up using both screws with my Horseman LD/Nikon D800E combination.

Lost a star due to 1/4 and 3/8 screws not being stainless. Worry about their strength when attaching heavy equipment. I will replace the 3/8 screw with stainless steel.

I had to get this together with my new EOS 5D Mark III, since I shoot a lot of scenery and panorama. I use my flexible tripod to macro shots as well. The mounting plate is very solid and snaps easily to my tripod head

With this heavy duty system it's just too much to move the mounting plate from lens to lens. Now that I have it I can't imagine not having it!

I'm putting one of these on each of my cameras! So much better than having to attach the mounting screw each time for each camera.

The RC2 and RC4 quick releases do offer different features. I like the RC4 version a bit better as I feel it grab and holds onto whatever you mount on it better. I can also disengage it more quickly than the RC2. Put one on every body and every long zoom lens and won't be sorry. It does add a bit of weight, but its worth it - in my opinion.

I use this for just about everything I need that can use a mount. I've had several of these mounting plates for a while. They are solid, won't rotate, and definately won't slip apart. The locking feature is positive and works. I did have couple of the RC2 and RC0 plates for other things, I gave those away. If you have expensive gear, get something that works and won't let you down. This plate system is it.

The salesman that I ordered the Bogen tripod adaptor suggested an extra mounting connector, I acepted - ordered two more connectors. Instant placement of camera on tripod. VERY stable and strong. If you have a Bogen tripod adaptor and have lens that have a mounting foot - buy the extre connectors!

I definitely like the tripod head itself, as it performs like a much more compact version of the 229, so it's strong, with independently adjustable axes, great for large format field work. The tripod plate however, is kind of unnecessarily large, as well as a little awkward to mount to the head. I really have to double check that it's on properly to feel comfortable with this QR plate. I think Manfrotto has, since I bought mine, come out with better, smaller tripod heads that use better, smaller plates. I'll keep this head, but if I lose or break it, I'll go a different direction.
