DAVID S : what female thread size does this adapter convert from? What is the final male thread size on top of the plate? Simple questions that should have been answered in the product specifications.KARL N : The female adapter on the bottom mates with standard camera tripod threads 1/4 20 UNC (i.e. it screws onto your tripod). The screw on the top is designed to mate with standard surveying gear like GNSS receivers and is 5/8" 11. I use the adapter all the time to mount a dual frequency GNSS receiver on my Neewer carbon fiber tripod.ANDREW R : Manfrotto only provides a spec on the male thread (5/8") I'm afraid. As this unit is designed to fit a standard head mount stud I would assume the female mounting thread would be 3/8"-16
