This is an awful tripod for architecture, first it’s heavy but I knew that when I purchased it, wouldn’t do it again. Second, a little less than a year in the gears wore out. You would think that a product built for commercial work would be able to at least go a year or more.

I love this tripod. I am a real estate photographer and this is the perfect tripod for that. But keep in mind it is heavy. Would not be a good tripod for hiking or travel.

This is a very solid tripod but check the weight of it before buying because it is over 9 lbs without a head on it. Probably great for a studio or large person who doesn't mind the weight but it is not very portable.

Love this tripod! Previously had a Vanguard that got damaged and I was devastated - now I'm thankful because this Manfrotto is SOLID!

This is a great tripod for professionals who need a tripod that is stable. A little on the heavy side, but worth the extra weight!

This tripod is very sturdy. Not the best choice for carrying in the wild but it is great if you don't have to hike too far. The leg release and lock is very handy and setup can be quick and sure.

Excellent product when stability is of prime importance. Looks to be well made and I look forward to years of use.

I got these legs as my Manfrotto 728b digi just barely had the capacity to hold my Oly E-3, 50-200, and EC-14. Plus, I wanted to "graduate" to a ball head/separate leg rig. When I first pulled these legs out of the box and lifted them, I realized I got a VERY sturdy (somewhat heavy) tripod. I almost considered returning them and opting for a lesser capacity, lighter setup...until I used it for the first time. This 'pod is built like a tank, adjusts easily, and the center post extension mechanism is superior. I'm keeping it, as it will most likely outlast me! I don't plan to hike for miles through the tundra lugging this 'pod, so the weight will not be an issue. No matter what camera gear I buy in future, this rig will support it.

Sturdy. Very convenient leg release.

Equipment used in the present "digital era" requires a camera support system more stable and versatile than ever. Manfrotto geared tripods have always been the first choice of the professional photographer, whether in the studio or on location, for their medium and large format cameras.
All black anodized aluminum construction and unrivalled in stability, the 475B Pro Geared Tripod incorporates a unique center brace strut system, reliable quick-action leg locks, non-rollback three faceted center column, spirit level and rubber/metal spiked feet.
Manfrotto has always been concerned with the balance between minimum and maximum height, tripod weight, and load capacity. The 475B is no exception. Designed by incorporating the best features of the 3033 and 3036 tripods, the 475B has added two important features. The center brace system can be operated in a symmetric or asymmetric way. This allows the best of both worlds: speed by locking the braces so that all of the legs will be spread to the same angle, or by individually setting the angle of each leg for the ultimate in tripod positioning.
To avoid annoying delays in leveling the tripod, the telescopic center braces have been designed with two "click stop" positions that allow you to easily find the same spread angle on all three legs. The second improvement has been made to the leg locking system. The 475B incorporates the Quick Action leg locks. These locks have an amazingly quick and secure locking range. All it takes is a 45 Degree flip of the lever to lock and unlock each section.
