MARY F : will this fit my manfrotto 055 tripod and hold heavy zoom lenses?
Mark S : Will this work with the Manfrotto Element 5-section Aluminum Monopod?David W : I bought mine to work with a GorillaPod 5K. But I also own the Manfrotto Element 5 in black. So to answer your question I put the head with the monopod and here's what I found. The locking knob can be easily turned. It hits the mounting plate on my GorillaPod but not on the Manfrotto Monopod! So the mounting plate is a perfect size for it. If you are just using it for photography then I think it would be fine. If you'll be using it for videography I would suggest a video head with an arm. I've watched a few videos and done a few of the unique moves that only a monopod can do easily and cheaply. The stability needed for video needs as many contact points to keep the monopod steady. This head does not give that as it doesn't have an arm to hand grip, arm pit grip, put a zoom control on etc. I suggest watching some videos on YouTube about monopod for additional information. Good for the Price

The tightening mechanism is difficult to use. Other than that it is pretty solid and does the job. Good for the price but again the controls are a little cumbersome.

Good small tripod head

I'm using this head on top of a JOBY Gorilla Pod tripod K5 size. The base size of the head is a little on the small size for this tripod. But the base of the head fits fine but the locking knob rubs up against the tripod head platform. The knob does extend out easily enough when you have to turn it. Would be nice for the specs of a tripod head when buying one to mention what the ideal base size would be for it. But locks very well with gear on it.
