Shopper : Does the platform come off and how tall is it?PATINA T : Hi! The platform does not come off and it's 2.5" tall.SIMON H : It looks like it should screw off, but without putting tools on it, I can't budge it. Overall height of the unit is 60 mm.

Functional flexibility in a small, lightweight package.

These little ball heads are perfect at giving me shot flexibility in a small, lightweight package. I use them in some compact time lapse setups, and they've changed the game for me, making my setup more functional and compact while giving it a much more professional appearance. This rating is for the third batch of them I've purchased because the rigs I put together with the first set worked so well that I keep deploying more of them.

"Rolls effortly"

I use it with a car window mount for taking pictues while sitting in my truck. I slao use it on my tripod.

It was just the size I needed for an application. Very well made, of course. And excellent delivery from Adorama.

Manfrotto ball head family has been completely updated to be more ergonomic and easier to handle. Payloads range from 4.4 lbs (2kg) to 17.6 lbs (8kg). Features include a new friction control knob which allows micro movements without having to engage the head locking mechanism.

The friction control is present in all modelsexcept the small 492 head. The locking lever can be moved to the most convenient position, making it easierand quicker to work with this head.

All models featuring the quick release plate include an additional safety system that helps to prevent an accidental detaching of the camera from the head. These new Manfrotto heads are the ideal support for all needs!
