Good purchase but could use somimproving

If your using this item direct with a Dslr (no rig components), find some fitting caps to place onto the unused screws so that you can take advantage of the quick release system. The screws lower them selves and prevent a smooth release. And sometimes even make it difficult to release the plate from the tripod.

Nice to have

It is nice to have a little bit longer quick release plate. This one does offer a little bit more adjustment to balance a camera than the standard plate. I actually thought it would allow for more adjustment than what it has. It would be nice if it were a little bit cheaper, but then it is a pretty specialized item that is not produced in huge quantities. If you need more adjustment you should get it. If you don't then you can get by with the standard plate.
