This is an awesome set up..period. What more can I say? The tripod in Manfrotto quality and the fluid head is also Manfrotto quality.

I already have this tripod so buying it again was a simple decision.I love it.It's light, portable, reliable, and can transfer from low mode around 18" to 7 ft high in seconds.If you need a tripod that can do almost anything give this a peak.Extra bonus extra plates are easy to find.If you want a heavier duty tripod head grab the 509I use this all the time with the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro and some heavier lenses like the Atlas Anamorphic, Cooke, and Canon 17-120servo.I wouldn't use the 504 head for anything larger than that.

This is the best value for the price, however compared to older models, it feels cheaper. As heavy as the legs are, they feel flimsy and not as sturdy as imagined. The mid-level spreader can be helpful in some situations, but the ground spreader is much better as you can hold it down with your foot to spread the legs. WIth the mid-level it's more tedious. The head is great, but I had to return the first one because the tension adjustment was clicking tighter or looser as I adjusted it. The head does move really smoothly though, and there's nothing cheaper that's worth it if you're shooting video.

I use this with my Red Scarlet and it works like a charm. The bubble level is easy to use and it feels well constructed for a tripod at this price level. I don't particularly like the plastic locks on the aluminum legs, but they work just fine and definitely feel like they're locking things down.

Strongly Recommended for its quality features, strong build and beautiful style. This tripod is better than anything south of $1200, and quite honestly, I cant see anyone telling me they have a better one at $2,000. Fluid Head works well... locking plate is very durable, screw in areas for accessories like TV monitor, mics, PA Mics, etc makes this tripod ahead of most... the legs are very versitle and strong... did I mention the sexy Italian design??? well... what else could you want? Buy & enjoy.... stuff the savings into another lens or buy you girlfriend some jewlery.... ;-)
