Very Good For the Price

Adequate travel tripod, excellent for the price. Light and compact. Works with a 5D and 70-200/4 if there's no wind. Legs are a bit spindly, and the head's X axis adjustment (portrait/landscape) slips unless you really crank it down. You can improve this tripod by not extending the legs all the way, and by substituting a Manfrotto R190.510B column and compact ballhead for the integrated column/head that comes with it.

Very smooth ball head

Very sturdy and balanced tripod. I purchased it to replace an older tripod that was bulky and I didn't like the way it panned when doing video. My old trip was jerky when you panned. This tripod is very smooth and I like the quick release adaptors, making it very quick to attach and detach. I already had a spare from a Manfrotto monopod, so I just leave one attached to my camera all the time. The only difficulty I found was figuring out which way to put the bracket, it fits both way, but comes loose if you chose the wrong direction.

Good tripod for amateurs

I was looking for a good price and good quality tripod for my t3i with 55-250mm lens. I read other reviews with many other tripods, and found out I need my tripod to be able to support at least 6 lbs. I was going to buy another cannon ( the one I use to own before ), but I decided to purchase this one, because I know Manfrotto is one of the good companies, and other people recommend Manfrotto as well. I haven't really used it yet, but it looked pretty stable when I tried setting it up with my camera with the lens.

very good for the money

i originally set out to get one of the higher model manfrotto tripods, and then i saw this, and i am very happy i went with it.....this model is as strong and sturdy as the higher model i borrowed from the college art lab, its just as functional as well although just not quite as fancy.....if you dont care about all the frills this is a great tripod.....does everything you need to shoot stills and video....

Manfrotto Wins Again

Having this same tripod for a while (till daughter liked it more than I did) I decided to grab another when I found it on sale. Also have another with ball head that is quite a bit lighter but not quite as rigid.

Pretty good tripod

Very, very solid. Typical Manfrotto quality. Compact. Smooth. Don't like that you cannot get rid of the quick-release head. I've had no problems with it but I just don't feel very secure about the quick release but that's just the nature of most quickies anyway. Locks are tight. The pan handle is a little too stubby and hard to get it tucked in just where you think it should be when folding up and putting away. Great for travel. I'd buy another one. Great price. I still rate it 8 out of 10 overall.

Good solid tripod

Well made, good brand, but I thought this was a "portable" tripod but it is just as heavy and big as my Slik which is a better tripod for the money and the clamp on the center extension is clunky.

Needed a quality compact tripod

Needed a tripod that I could pack in my 25" suitcase when traveling. This tripod held nearly 8 lbs, collapsed small enough and came with a head that would allow me to pan during video on my 7D. Manfrotta is a trusted brand and it was in the right price range. I wish the legs were a little sturdier but if you don't pull them out to their maximum height, it does feel stronger. So far so good.
