This is the first decent tripos I have owned and it is marvelous! I feel my camera is secure and the tripos is solid and easy to use.

After two years of constant daily use: Overall it is a good product. Reasonably priced, on the light and portable side while being rather stable and sturdy. It is definitely a compromise. If you want sturdiness and stability for heavy gear that you use daily, you should probably look for something more hefty. I use this daily for real estate photography. I mostly mount an A7iii + 16-35/4 or 24-240. This combo is under 3 pounds (1300 grams) and is totally fine, but as soon as I mount my full size flash I notice that the ball head needs to be tightened more, or it will sag forward. Since the dial on the ball head feels plasticky and cheap, I'm worried tightening it too much might cause it fail eventually. What I like about it is the size and weight. I can fit in my medium size backpack along with a camera body and two or three lenses as well as my 15" laptop. Makes for somewhat heavy backpack, but I prefer o have two free hands than carrying the tripod in one hand. A bit too big and heavy for travel, a bit too light weight for heavy professional use, but there's a place for this in the middle!

Too heavy to lug around. I took it for hikes but it was cumbersome and heavy in the back pack. Look for a lighter tripod - it's worth it.

Super Stable. Super strong. Holds up my Nikon D600 and 70-200 2.8 w/Battery Pack and iPad Teleprompter with no issues. Great tripod. The 20lb weight rating is spot on. I was used to clip-tight legs instead of screw tight legs, but I think these screw ones are sturdier. Just takes a little getting used to. The tripod is super light, and really maneuverable. REALLY GREAT! Best tripod I’ve ever owned.

Nice carrying case. Good size. Very stable. The instructions are difficult to understand, so it's good if you have an experienced photographer to help you set it up.

Tripod is stable with my Fujifilm x-t3 and battery grip. While it did take me a bit to understand the ball head but works well once you learn it.

This is a great travel tripod. It's light, sturdy, folds down small, and holds quite a bit of weight. That being said, there is a major drawback, and it's almost a dealbreaker IMHO. While this tripod is specifically designed for the 3rd gen and up Sony Alpha camera bodies (and it fits them well), it does not fit the Sony Alpha lens feet. So the only thing you can securely mount on the tripod is a Sony Alpha Camera body. This presents a major problem with larger lenses like my 200-600mm and even the 70-200 GM. It's for this reason I would recommend buying the traditional quick release version over this Sony version. Otherwise you'll most likely end up spending extra money on a ballhead replacement just like me.

This is one if the sturdiest travel tripods, that still fits reasonably well in a backpack.

I bought a new Nikon Z 6 mirrorless camera and needed to step up to a ball-head tripod designed for travel. The Manfrotto BeFree GT Aluminum Travel Tripod is everything I was looking for: innovative design, quality construction, and tall enough for my own 6 foot 4 inch height. The 496 Ball Head is really stable and I have every confidence that my expensive camera will remain solidly attached under all circumstances. I read a bunch of reviews before purchasing this tripod and I have not been disappointed.

Unfortunately the quick release plate got stuck -- tried everything but plate is still jammed. Luckily no camera was attached :) I would look at Arca-Swiss systems - wanted to love Manfrotto "quick" release but giving up.

Bought this recently and used it a couple of times photographing streams and waterfalls. The ball head holds my D850 and Tamron 70-200 mm well. Great transaction as always with Adorama.

For decades I have used a heavy aluminum Star-D tripod. I chose this new tripod for its light weight, quick set-up, and a good ball head. It is on the borderline to handle my two Canon L long zoom lenses, but it works well. Just have to be careful with the initial installation.
