Broke Almost Immediately
It broke right away. Pay a little more and get a quality metal one. Don't waste your money on this cheap plastic.

Broke second time I used it.
This broke way too easy. I pulled on the lock on the back, not too hard, and the handle broke. This was very disappointing. It held the phone fine, but it breaks way too easy.

You get what you pay for.
Manfrotto is said to offer some relatively affordable and well-crafted products to prosumers and everyday consumers, and hobbyists alike. The cellphone clamp feels like a good quality product and has an extremely strong spring-loaded grip to attach to most cellphones that I know of on the market. However, this product in particular uses a plastic kick-stand like plate to allow your camera to balance at a angle for interesting placement on a desktop, table, floor or anywhere else you can imagine. The only problem with this is that if you apply too much pressure to the plate, it will inevitably snap, like mine did within the first 2 weeks of ownership. For the price, it isn't bad, but you want something that will last a fall, or a few knocks from the environment, or even a drop when least expected. Buy simply adding a metal piece instead of plastic on the rear of this clamp, Manfrotto could save its users a little bit of headache.

Universal cell phone clamp, love it. It is lightweight, not too bulky and can be kept on the phone to capture moments that come up unexpectedly.
This is a great little device for holding cell phones and at $9.99 you can't beat the price. One star is knocked off to alert to be gentle with the tab in the back--one could easily pull it too hard and snap it off. However it works great either setting up with the tab or with a table top or standard tripod. It is lightweight and not too bulky and can be kept on the phone to capture moments that come up unexpectedly. Certainly beats trying to set up your phone against objects.

Good, compact clamp.
Compact, easy to use, though the spring holding the phone in the clamp is strong and takes significant effort to pull open. On the other hand, that stiff spring means that the phone is very secure. Manfroto is the go-to brand for tripod accessories and doesn't disappoint.

Solid clamp, worth picking up for iPhone shooters
This is a great, really secure option for shooting with iPhone. Plus it has a little kickstand on the back that'll be great for watching video on the plane. Only thing is the mechanism for adjusting the clamp is a little sticky and kind of awkward, but for the price and the function it's a solid, multi-use piece of hardware to have on hand.

Needs shorter springs for large phones.
This is a nice clamp for my iPhone XS Max. With the silicone case my phone measure 3 3/16 inches and this clamp was extremely tight when I pulled it apart that much. I knew because of the force required to open it that much it was going to break so I took it apart and removed the two springs it has inside and replaced them with shorter springs. Now it works very good for my phone. Because of the shorter springs it has about ½ inch of free play when closed so that might not be a good changed for someone with a smaller phone, but for a bigger phone this needs to be done. You could also just cut about ½ inch off the existing springs and put them back. It holds good but does not have the death grip it had before. I’ll put a picture of the springs if I can find where to upload it.

Great quality in affordable kit!
Solidly built, small enough to fit nicely around side buttons, yet large enough for good support of the phone. There are two brass tripod mounts for good flexibility of phone positioning. I have paid far more for far less quality. I bought it because of the price and am keeping it because of the quality!

Good value for money
Very stable, holds the phone perfectly. My only complaint is that the "rotating lever" on the back is made of thin plastic which is not really durable.

Well made, easy to use

Functionally Very Adaptable
I combined the Manfrotto Universal Clamp for the Smartphone with a hot shoe to 1/4"-20 male post adapter and a small ball head taken from my tabletop tripod. Since the camera does not have an articulating display, the combination attached to the camera's hot shoe provides a functionally adjustable viewing solution for live-view via the camera's wi-fi + phone app. It securely holds my iPhone 7 with an Otterbox case, but note this Universal Clamp is limited to 3.2". If you feel paranoid about the spring clamp or have a larger smartphone, choose instead the Manfrotto TwistGrip Universal SmartPhone Clamp.

a perfect accessory
I am a serious nature photog but sometimes just want to go for a hike without all the gear. Invariably, that's when I will see something photoworthy and resort to using my cell phone. I use a Manfrotto compact monopod as a walking stick, and being able to use this mount on it to rigidly hold my phone makes shooting (especially videos and selfies) much better. Great mount at an amazingly low price - I would have happily paid three times as much.
