Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is this enough tripod to support a EF 100-400 lens?FRANK M : yesRONALD E : I use either a Canon 7D or Canon 5Ds R camera with my Canon 100-400 IS L lens on this tripod when I travel. This combo is pushing the upper limits of the tripods weight handling capabilities. It is steady but the least little movement -- even pushing the shutter will cause a vibration. I do not try to shot moving objects with it, I tighten the mount as tight as it will go to avoid camera shake. I also use a shutter release cable. The tripod is a trade-off -- light weight and packability for travel. It is not my main birding tripod for flying eagles or where I have to track moving objects. It was a great tripod for the cameras and wide angle lens combination for landscape photos at the Grand Canyon last month though. I also used it to take stationary eagle pictures in Alaska this summer with the 100-400 lens. Those photos came out tack sharp. It fits in my travel carry-on backpack and is extremely light weight. Great for if you are flying commercial with a lot of camera gear. Not the best if you are traveling in a car and have room to pack a bigger heavier tripod.HENRIKE S : I've only used it with smaller lenses so far, but I've found it to be very sturdy.BUD K : Hi. I'm not sure of the specs but I use a canon 5d mark III with the latest canon 100-400 zoom and a 1.4 extender on my tripod and it works fine. It's a very lightweight tripos so you have to be a little careful to avoid tipping it with all that weight on the top, but I've been ok.STEVEN M : It can support a 100-400 lens and 5D III body.
R P : Help me understand. 1) what 3/8 screw is missing? where exactly on the tripod and what is it's function? 2) is there a carry bag or not? The description lists one, then you state it is missing. 3) what is the model # of the ball head? 200PL is the plate. Thank you.ANDREW R : For questions regarding used equipment please call our Used Equipment Dept.: Toll Free: 800-223-2500 Local: 212-741-0052
JAY G : Can the ball head be replaced with a different ball head?JAY G : Kevin and Mark: Exact opposite !MARK B : No the head cannot be replaced.KEVIN Y : Yes. You can remove the head and add on any head. It has standard threading.

Great tripod

I bought this tripod for a European trip and I was extremely impressed with the quality for price point; the tripod is extremely light and compact. It fit easily in my carryon bag. I used it with a 5D mk2 & 24-105L lens, which worked extremely well.

Travel light

Bought this as I wasnted something light for travel with my fujifilm x-e3. This fit the bill! I had a Mefoto that was a full pound heavier due to the aluminum construction and absolutely hated the twist-lock mechanism. The Manfrotto has flip locks which are quicker to set up and you know it's locked.

I love it

I like this tripod very much, it’s elegant and lightweight. I use 5D Mark iii + 24-70 f2.8 on it for most of the time and it holds it tightly with a little bit shaking. Anyway for a travel tripod this is definitely the best for the price and quality.

Wyoming Big Game Outfitter

I like this tripod for its weight and strength. I also like the features it offers. It takes a little getting used to but that is always the case with any new equipment. I highly recommend this tripod.
