The leg on the mono pod fell off. Found that the two nylon pieces that hold the leg fell out and were loose inside the leg. We were about to return when we figured out how to repair ourselves. Like the tripod but not sure about quality going forward. We will have to see what happens.

The only reason I gave it a four and not five stars is that I haven't traveled with it yet. Tried it out here at home and it seems to fit my needs.

This is my first good quality tripod and as a hobbyist it's just perfect. For the price, I expected an average quality tripod, but to my surprise, it turned out to be better. As I grow in my photography skills, I'll keep an eye on Manfrotto tripods in case I need an additional one.

Everything is great except for the head platform. The rubber on the surface simply can't keep my camera fixed when it's adjusted to vertical. The weight of the lens ALWAYS make the camera shift down. I don't have a huge camera or a heavy lens, but regardless of the weight of my gears, this tripod is not usable when camera is adjusted vertically.

Purchased this tripod with the intent of having something sturdy enough to support my camera and a new 18-400 Tamron lens while being easy to travel with. It does this well. Also thought the added monopod capability would be nice, meh, not so much. It's nice to have as a backup not really tall enough so I will be looking at other monopod choices for full time use in the future.

If you're looking for a relatively compact travel tripod to be this is a good option, but here are a few quirks - the leg extensions are a kinda flimsy, long exposure w/ some wind can be tough - quick release doesn't slide in-n-out like a arca because of a protruding bolt. I hear some say this is a safety feature, but I think it's a quirk. - thumb screw for the mount to the camera has a small handle that lays flat, and can get in the way as you mount it to the clamp.

The Manfrotto Element Traveler Big tripod kit provides a great solution for those who are looking for a compact solution but needs to support cameras from CSC to DSLR with large lenses. It also gives the flexibility to switch between tripod and monopod applications thanks to the detachable leg.
It includes a bag that is designed to make transportability and handling quick and easy.
