This monopod is a great value for the money. It’s light and compact, which was exactly what I was looking for to take with on hikes for nature photography. I haven’t had it long enough to evaluate its durability, but it has performed well so far.

Bought for photographing high school football and it works great. Lightweight but strong enough to hold my rig. Easy to extend or lower legs quickly so I can get that low shot!

After holding my camera up above shoulder level through an entire Disney fireworks show, I decided that I needed something better. While it would be nice if this monopod were taller, it folds down far enough that it is allowed into the parks and will also be convenient on other travels where carrying a tripod is just too much.

For High School spring sports the mono pod is the way to go. The Manfrotto is light and easy to use. The adjustments are easy and perfect height. The handle makes it easy to carry or hold. I got tired of the camera hanging on my neck. This solved that problem. The tripod was hard to get level for quick shots and heavier and awkward. It does stick a little so I gave it a 4. Maybe because it's new.

Yes it's compact, fits into backpack easily, you don't even know it is there, but it is there when I need it, great for video and low light and the price is right.

I recently bought the Sony RC10 III. While it can be hand held, I've found that I needed a little more support. I bought the Manfrotto Monopod and it has done what I wanted it to do. I was able to shoot at ISO 125; f/11 @ 1/4 sec. and the shot came out sharp. There are times when using a tripod is not useful, the monopod lets me have steady shots in those instances. I did add a mini ball head to the monopod. One thing about adding the ball head: The screw was too small to fit the ball head, so I had to order a small adaptor ring and that worked perfectly.

After doing a comprehensive research I chose this compact aluminum (for lightness, lighter than the one made of carbon) for an upcoming trip to Alaska where my tripod will be cumbersome. For strength, this easily handles my Nikon 810 with a 70-300mm lens, etc. The overall length when folded is another factor for choosing this as it can easily slip into my carry over luggage while my backpack serves as my purse.

At age 80 a little extra support goes a long way. Just not as steady as I was at 70. Does improve usefulness if an inexpensive ball-head is added. Only negative experience was being refused entrance to the National Air and Space Museum out by Dulles International by overzealous, on site guard. No reason given beyond, "It's not allowed".

This does perform as descriped. Unit is easy to extend and contract. Monopod is light so works well with small or compact cameras well
