Worth the investment.

I've had this monopod for over two years now, using it for both photo and video work. It's sturdy and will get the job done. The extendable height is great as well as the option to tilt it forward and back. Once you buy it, you have the option to do the warranty via Manfrotto directly; it's good for up to 5 years, and it's worth taking the time to register it with them. That process is easy too. As for the payload, it can be easy to go over the limit, especially with heavy setups. But you can mount anything to this monopod if it has a 1/4 20 so it's worth the investment. You will have to get a case with it, and I would recommend it. That way, it's protected and will be long-lasting. The only thing I don't like is that it can be easily top-heavy if you accidentally go over the payload. Other than that, it's a solid monopod that can handle anything.

Fantastic Monopod

All I can say is wow. It's sturdy, I like the locking legs. Probably this best monopod I have owned. I was skeptical of the price, but when I used it for my sports photography and birds in flight It was a lifesaver. I used it with a small gimbal and it worked great.. I did take the feet support off. I found I didn't need it. And it did come with a rubber foot. Very secure and I wasn't concerned with support. Can't recommend this enough. I do wish It came with a case though.

Feels good to use

Worked as expected. Great locking mechanism. Able to accept both usual thread sizes. Heavier than expected but fine with sturdier feel. Will be using on a trip to Africa this summer.

Pro Level Monopod

This Manfrotto monopod is built like a tank, just like its tripod counterpart. Some photographers might feel its too heavy but if you are shooting sports with big heavy lenses, you want stability and safety for your equipment. This is your monopod.

Honestly, when I mount my canon 1DX Mark II with a 400 mm 2.8 lens, I’m uncomfortable that this monopod can support it. I like the ease of extension. For a smaller setup, I think it’s perfect. But I shoot with “big guns”!!!! Joe

Manfrotto XPRO Monopod+ Aluminum Monopod with 577 Video Adapter

I have not used it yet, other then in the backyard due to the weather, and either snow or mud all around. I will say it is easy to use with the 500mm telephoto lens attached. Once I attach the camera to it, it is fairly easy to handle and use.

Invaluable help for heavier lenses

I needed this to support a rather heavy unstabilized telephoto setup. I'm using it with an Induro ball-head at the moment. The only issue I have with it is that the hand-strap tends to work itself out of the buckle-mechanism really easily.

Excellent versatile product!

Great built, not heavy, very versatile. It was much bigger than expected but it's lighter than it looks. I have a tripod that I use for long exposures and astrophotography and I needed something more versatile for macro photography and places where I need to take up less space than a tripod. this is perfect for that. very adjustable, very smooth for video, and my manfrotto quick release on my tripod works on this monopod so I don't have to take off the quick release from my tripod to fit on the monopod. strangely my quick release on my monopod does not fit the tripod, so i did not use it. I wish the monopod legs would close and that one rubber leg would already be there installed, instead of having to take off the tripod legs to use the one rubber leg. The tripod legs get stuck on the grass/roots of forests so the single leg would be better but the tripod legs are sturdier so I keep them on. This monopod is great for video and photography that requires a steady hand like macro shots! love it!
