Just what I had hoped for

Well made and solid materials. This one is heavier than my other CF tripods - the upper leg tubes must be almost 2" in diameter and very thick walled. The locking levers are very smooth to operate. With legs extended and center column retracted the base plate is over 5' in height so you may need a 1 or 2 step stool. The column cranks up smoothly although it jiggles a little bit until you tighten the set screw. Then it is solid. At that height you will need a small ladder. I use a D750 with Sigma 105mm so there's a fair amount of weight up there but it all holds steady. Primary use is stage photography so I get everything set and aimed and then use a remote to operate shutter. It all works just as I planned and I feel I made the right choice with this tripod. No regrets.

A work of art

If this tripod doesn't give you a chubby when you see it for the first time you're not a photographer. It's beautiful, smooth in it's operation, and built like a tank. I promise - if you get this tripod you will be impressed with it's performance!

Well worth it

This tripod is heavy, expensive and it's well worth it. I now have three tripods all from Manfrotto, the four sections 190, 055 and 057. While the other two are great in their own ways, the 057 is just so much sturdier. It's my new go to tripod for windy conditions, long exposures at night or shooting wildlife with my big lens mounted.

A dream come true

This product is used to hold my camera, digital/film,35mm and medium format. The quick release plates allow me to change cameras,formats,etc., quickly and easily with no hassle. Because it will extend to 80 inches, and then to ground level, allows me to shoot from many different angles. It is so functional. I love it!!!
