I purchased the motor as a replacement for the one that came with the Manfrotto gimbal, which I had purchased used from Adorama. The one I received with the gimbal had a tiny chunk of plastic from a damaged tooth was wedged in and it caused the gear to get jammed up and burn out. I was on a tight schedule and could not send the whole unit back and wait for a replacement, so I just ordered a new gear.

HOWEVER, the clamp that attaches to the mini rail does not seem to want to tighten properly. Several times, I have tightened it down on the rail to the point that I thought I would break it and it will still be a bit loose. I tested it on the broken motor as well and got the same result...like the rail it comes with is a fraction too small or the clamp is a tiny bit too wide. 

When it does clamp down correctly, it works beautifully. I just wish the clamp worked a bit better because I have a feeling that is how the previous motor's teeth could have been damaged.
