I could not figure out how to use this tripod. The quality seems rugged enough and high quality, however, at the expense of ease of use. The quick release plate seems anything but quick. It does not come off without a bunch of wrangling. Other quick release mounts on basic cheapo tripods just take a second to put on or take off. This one must have taken me about 30+ seconds to get the camera mounted. The legs require a lot of time to extend. With the "clip" style legs on other tripods you can set up your shot a lot quicker. Maybe i'm just doing it all wrong, but this tripod is exceptionally hard to use. Seems like the basic $ tripod at Wal-mart gets the job done in half the time, albeit with a low quality "creaky" swivel head. Still, not nearly as frustrating as this thing. Also the carrying bag is a pain to use too. Its not even practical unless putting the tripod in long term storage like I did. This tripod came with a bunch of mystery pieces and screws and adapters and I have no idea what they are for. The instructions aren't even helpful. I give up!

Not as light as carbon but much lighter than my other two tripods. Very sturdy with strong ball head. Easy set up and very compact. Sale pricing makes it a steal.

I bought this to replace a cheap plastic one I accidentally left at shoot and I'm so glad I lost the other now. This one is super light-weight and collapses really small. Easy to use. Surprisingly extends to a great height.

I had a nice carbon fiber Dolica Tripod and actually sold it for this one. That tripod did everything well but it was tough for me to go hiking and use outdoors on trips. This gets the job done and is really easy to move around!

Looking for a tripod that could also be a monopod and this PrmaPhoto tripod fits the bill. Compact and nice quality built. Highly recommended.

I’ve not used many tripods, and I’m coming from a cheap one from Best Buy I got years ago (still reliable) but I was tired of dealing with sags when I had a slightly heavier lens on the camera. This thing is like a rock, I’m very anxious to start using it for more photos!

I bought this tripod to hold my iOptron SkyTracker Pro with my Nikon D5300 and 300mm lens. It does the job perfectly, and had no issues with the weight. The construction on this tripod is very nice - I've only owned a tripod with the "lock" type legs, so was a bit uncertain about the telescoping legs. I was very happy with these on this tripod, as they adjust smoothly and are actually much easier to manage. I found readjusting to level the tripod a lot smoother and simpler. The included ball head is a huge bonus!

Have wanted to upgrade my old tripod for some time now and finally found one that fit my needs and budget. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment out of this tripod. Will certainly buy another if and when the time comes.

Nice little tripod, not on the light side but folds down to a very small size. And I got it on a very good deal.

This is a terrific little tripod for how cheap it was. Love the fact that once the tilt on my camera is locked down on the ball head, I can still pan because it has a separate pan lock. The fact that one leg also turns into a monopod is also great!. For it's size, it seems solid but folds up very small and is very easy to carry and pack in a typical suitcase for travel. I have used it well for both photography and video with a GoPro.

Versatile in that it can be taken apart to make a monopod easily. Good quality aluminum construction and the red color is attractive. A little heavier than I had imagined for the size so that is reason for 4 stars. Otherwise, a very nice tripod for a good price.

It's very solid and high quality. I just wish it was light like my other two tripod.

Great carry-around tripod. Very stable. Really like the leg clamps (screw to tighten/loosen) over the typical plastic flip clamps. Most adjustable/flexible than my other tripods as well.

For what I paid (50 on sale) this is definitely 5 star great. For the normal 150 I would say 3 star so I'll give it an average of four. Tripod comes with multiple adapters (feet and ball attachment) which is handy. Ball head is not super strong as it wouldn't hold a 6d mark ii w batter grip and 24-105 at an angle. (45 degrees). Having used it without the battery grip in normal landscape position at slight angles it's just fine. Not super light but not heavy either. Very sturdy and stable for its size.

Very satisfied with the tripod. Light enough that it’s not a pain to carry. When set up it’s very solid.

This is great for heavier cameras, the only thing I can recommend is if they make it a clamp model rather than a twisty one.

This is the perfect tripod if you want something easy to carry, travel with or on-the-go. It's compact, lightweight and fits in carry-on luggage with ease. I primarily use this tripod for traveling, hiking, indoor sporting events and everyday walk around use. The twist lock legs take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you can actually tighten and loosen all four locks on each leg fairly quickly. They also include some hex wrenches in case you want to tighten or loosen the fold-out joint where the legs open up. Very sturdy with my mirrorless setup and there's a hook in case you want to add some weight to keep it stable as well. Very happy with my purchase!

I got this on a sale near Christmas for my husband, he used to do professional photography, but now he just does our family photos, and his had broken years ago. This one setups Huge! I can't believe how big it gets and I was worried it would be too dinky and small, it is a good size, great value and not too heavy.

Pretty great tripod. Fully extended it is as tall or a little shorter than me (I’m 5’10”). It’s pretty much perfect except for the levels being a little off. Besides that, I would definitely buy it again if I needed to.

I got this tripod for a sweet deal and was not expecting much honestly but within the first minutes of opening my package I was certainly blown away by this thing! The quality of the tripod is actually awesome and the ease at which I can open the legs is necessary because I don't want to be messing around trying to get shots. Also I read the directions and I love that this is so simple to use. The best feature is intuitive controls, if you use this for an hour you will feel like a professional. Anyways great product and also the bag it comes in is padded and really is a nice touch to bring the overall quality up!

It's looks and feel just like the MeFOTO RoadTrip but cost a lot less. Works great so far.

Good light weight tripod and ball head. Easy all round tripod for basic work to intermediate work. Only criticism is center shaft has no way of laying horizontal, can’t get all the way down to ground without flipping center post. Other than that it is a good tripod

A fine choice for day-hike photography
By GEORGE C.
I wanted to find a compact tripod with a ball head that could replace my old 80s-vintage Silk model for use on day hikes entailing fairly rugged terrain on- and off-trail. After much research, I came across the aluminum PrimaPhoto Big Travel Kit Tripod in at least one "top ten" review as a solid-yet-affordable choice (and PrimaPhoto tripods are apparently made by Manfrotto in order to test-market new designs). I was somewhat hesitant in that it had the twist-type locks rather than the flip ...
