I bought this when it went on sale with free shipping. For what I paid, I'm pretty happy with it. It's not as refined and smooth as other knives around its MSRP. The fit-and-finish is acceptable with no glaring QA issues. As a tool, it's a solid knife. The steel is a little soft compared to a lot of modern choices, but that makes it easier to maintain long-term. Finally, I don't like the "billboarding" on the blade; especially on the primary grind. It makes it look really cheap. If you can get this knife on sale, and the blade shape is something you really find useful, this isn't a bad knife. At MSRP, there are far better options, though.

Its new so hopefully with some use it will loosen up but now its tight, one major flaw in my eyes is that upon closing its REALLY EASY to get pinched between the frame and the Blade assist button. But all in all a good average knife

This is a light duty work knife, with a point that resembles that of a disposable utility knife (carpenter's knife). Decent steel, easily sharpened and holds its edge, as good as can be expected for this steel. Locking mechanism is solid. Use the knife for its intended purpose and you should get years of service.

I'm a bit disappointed. It's worth what I paid but not a bargain, as promoted.

Well built, solid. Excellent grip. Not the most useful blade shape, but handy sometimes.

Super smooth and fast opening. Very grippy G10 handles. Only down side may be that the point is so severe that it could break off easily but this is mainly a defensive knife and in that capacity, it will get the job done.

The wharncliffe blade design is one of the most functional utility patterns ever developed. Thanks to the efforts of edged-weapon designer and trainer Michael Janich, it has also earned a reputation as an incredibly potent personal defense design.
Janich's new Be-Wharned features an aggressive, satin-finished AUS8A stainless steel blade that provides extreme cutting performance for its size. It is mated to a handle constructed of hardened 420J stainless steel liners nested into textured black G-10 scales. A sturdy liner-lock mechanism, exceptional ergonomics, and a four-position clothing clip complete the package, making the Be-Wharned one of the most advanced tactical folding knives available today.
