The Discovery Concerto Sunburst Sitka Spruce - Mahogany guitars have a heavy play style ideal for strumming and rhythm. The larger body Concerto body shape is constructed with a sunburst Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides for a clean, balanced and superb sounding guitar with a big, warm midrange tone.
The 1 11/16th inch radiused neck and low action make it fun and easy to play for any skill level. Many touring musicians depend on these durable and reliable guitars while on the road, and entry-level and beginner players find special value in these easy to play guitars. Every level player will appreciate these guitars and sound better, play better and play more on a Breedlove Discovery Series guitar.
Features
Beginner-friendly design makes the Discovery Series a perfect introduction to the world of music. A thinner neck profile with narrow nut width and radiused fretboard makes for ultra easy play. A pinless Delta bridge makes string changing simple and fun. Carefully crafted with trademark Breedlove sound DNA, these instruments sound like guitars costing three times the price. Welcome to the family!
Solid Wood Tops
Along with its body shape, a guitar's top is the defining element of its sound, driving, through its vibration, the key aspects of volume, tone, sustain and projection. Spruce will, due in part to its famous stiffness-to-weight ratio, ring loud and clear. A solid wood top translates those vibrations with more immediacy and purity of tone, and reacts more directly with the intent of a player. If you are at an intermediate level or above, you will appreciate the instantly recognizable benefits of a solid wood top.
The Concerto Body Shape
Introducing the Breedlove Concerto, a new guitar shape created to elicit more volume than a classic dreadnought, and more lush, complex tonal resonance in a comfortable body shape that feels just right. Loud, textured, and supremely satisfying.
Sitka Spruce Top
The world's most popular topwood, for a reason. Sitka has an ideal strength-to-weight ratio, yielding a strong fundamental, high velocity of sound and a pleasing elasticity. Translation? Sitka sounds great for heavy strumming, light fingerpicking and everything in between.
Mahogany Back & Sides
Long treasured by cabinetmakers and shipwrights for its simple, straight-grained beauty, strength and workability, mahogany-used in tops, backs, sides and necks-is also one of the true classic tonewoods, famous for its clear, strong fundamental; even string-to-string balance; and warm midrange emphasis. Mahogany pairs well with spruce tops as well as with itself in single species guitars-and both combinations define much of American roots music.
Breedlove Pinless Bridge
Breedlove's pinless Delta bridge is a distinctive element, alright, with a sleek, modern contour that adds an extra bit of unexpected beauty to every instrument, from Discovery to Legacy. But it also adds welcome functionality while anchoring great sound. Beginners love the fact that string changes are much easier without having to wrestle a traditional pin bridge. Pros love it for the same reason! No more looking for lost pins during a fast backstage string swap. And its low profile makes for perfect right hand damping.
Breedlove Neck
Breedlove guitars feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish also contributes to ideal playability. The labor-intensive finish process includes precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.
Heavy Play Style
The Breedlove Play Style system was created to help you, the player, select your sound and playing style. Finding the most appropriate guitar to fit your sound requires finding not only the correct body shape, but the proper tonewood combinations to fit your style of play. Each Breedlove guitar is designed for a specific play style and sound, the Play Style systems assign a playing style icon to each instrument.
H | Heavier Play, Strumming
Historically, larger guitars are designed for bigger sound and stronger play. Breedlove can achieve this robust playing style on the guitar body shape that is most comfortable to the player.
