One is modeled after a classic American circuit, delivering a clean, bright, and tight sound with a solid bass response. The other voice is inspired by a traditional British tone, offering a highly responsive 'chime' with a looser bottom that can be pushed into a midrange overdrive when driven hard. The Voice switch allows you to reconfigure the preamp voicing, EQ, valve gain structure, and power amplifier damping, all of which can be controlled via footswitch for added convenience.The Overdrive Channel also features two voices, providing a wide array of overdriven tones. These voices are characterized by high gain but avoid the detached top-end 'fizz' often found in other designs. This is achieved through unique preamplifier and power amplifier shaping techniques, which also allow the overdrives to clean up beautifully as the guitar volume is reduced.The patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control, exclusive to Blackstar Amplification, represents a significant advancement in tone shaping flexibility. This control shifts the response of the three-control tone stack between a US type response and a UK type response, offering an infinite number of alternative tone choices in between.The JJN-20R MkII also features a naturally sounding digital reverb that can be adjusted via the Reverb control on the front panel. A Power switch allows you to switch the amplifier between full power and 10% power, ensuring you can enjoy the full tonal depth of the power valve stage at any volume.For recording purposes, a USB connector is provided to send a speaker emulated output into a computer. Additionally, two outputs on the rear, a stereo jack socket, and balanced XLR, allow the speaker emulated signal(s) to be connected to external devices for practicing, recording, or live use.
