I've had a otf that was cheap and it opened in my pocket and almost got my knee pretty good. I guess the old flipper knife is better for me. Should I get a carbon fiber benchmade?

Very good quality. It could be a bit tighter but friction may interfere with function. Haven't used It yet. Sharpness is amazing. A word of caution, be careful with it. One mistake and you will bleed.

This is not just a knife, but a work of art. This is also my EDC and absolutely feel worse about leaving this when I travel then my tools. The Infidel is as much a part of me as a phone is to a pimply faced teenager, not to mention bragging rights when it comes out of pocket. This is my second Infidel and would buy another if I lost this one too.

I have several Benchmade knives. I love them all! I grew up with cheap knives that fail when you need them most. Now that I have a great knife I can't get enough of them. My 2 sons share my appreciation for a well made knife and that's the best gift I can give them. My last purchase was just for me though? the infidel?so cool!

I really like the style of the infidel. I just think that for the price you will get a pristine product and that was not the case. Didn't want to go thru the hassle of doing a warranty claim cause they don't exchange they to to fix it and we'll having to fix something new to me is not new no more so what's the case

When I first got the knife I love the feel of it the way the blade came out but after having it for a short time I noticed the blade was wobbly after being activated. Then the worst thing that ever could have happened when I needed it in a life-threatening situation. The blade didn't deploy because a dime had gotten inside of it that, shouldn't be possible for a knife that you rely on for protection in a hostile environment. I've seen other knives that were under $100 that had a more secure blade and no way that anything could get inside of it. I've owned many Benchmade Knives and speak of them highly to everyone but the infidel is just not the knife its portrayed to be. For the price the knife should be reliable.

I've wanted a otf knife for a long time and I kept buying the low quality knife's that would break and were pieces of junk. The price for one of this piece is steep but I'm so glad I finally but the bullet and have something reliable and safe to always carry with me

I recently turned in my gift certificates and purchased a Benchmade Infidel OTF knife. Excellent quality with a lifetime sharpening service and warranty. The action on the knife is super smooth and it's a durable build. Top notch product with a warranty to back it up! Also they gave me a rather large military discount, which is not common with companies these days. If you're on the fence about purchasing a Benchmade knife, don't be!

I bought this blade for everyday carry because of its unique design and the cool, reliable, and smooth deployment and retraction system. However, the price doesn't quite match the craftsmanship, as the blade and handle materials aren't particularly exciting or top-tier. Since the blade is still new, I'm interested to see how well the deployment and retraction mechanism holds up over time. I suspect it might slow down significantly as it ages.

The spring to open the knife has failed twice in the last 3 years with minimal use. Frustrated that we need to ship it to Benchmade to fix this recurring problem and pay for shipping.

I have carried an Infidel almost ten years, other than the occasional pocket lint jam causing it to not fully lock open I have had no issues with these knifes. The customer service is top notch they have sent me replacement screws and now a pocket clip no questions asked. Hard to find companies that value there customers and stand behind there products like Benchmade does.

This knife functions almost perfectly. If they could deaden the "klunk" the blades makes when locking open, it would be perfect. This is my second one as my son spoke the first one for his deployment.

This knife when you hold it just feels perfect in your hand. The quality and craftsmanship pretty much perfect. It opens and closes so smoothly. It's easy to operate. The blade is like a razor blade!

Firstly, this is an excellent knife in terms of construction, durability, design, and frankly the execution of a complex mechanism. That said, this knife really has only one application, that frankly is not applicable to most people. Can you conduct administrative tasks like opening boxes and such with this, yes you can, but that is tantamount to driving a school bus as your daily commuter vehicle. Tasks in which this knife is ill suited: opening boxes, whittling wood, splitting wood, using against a ferro rod, using as a prybar, peeling fruit, etc. Bottom line, for your 99% knife applications, this is not an ideal tool. For those that still insist on it, understand that the unit is fairly think and can be uncomfortable in the pocket.
