I bought one from the "Benchmadekifes" website that was a counterfeit and a day after I received it I bought the real thing at Cabelas. The 417 opens as fast as the automatic version, very smooth precision made (unlike the counterfeit version}. Light, narrow and easy to carry, has the aesthetics I was hoping for. .

This knife is such a pleasure to carry, i own a 914 as well and love it but there is something about this sleek blade and profile that the 417 has, just does it for me. a beauty to show your friends and holds up for my daily use. I recommend this knife to any blade lover as a must have for your collection.

My first Benchmade knife was purchased in 1980 and I have been a Benchmade fan eversince. I have been waiting a long time for Benchmade to make a knife like the 417 and the wait was well worth it. My main purpose for purchasing this knife is for EDC and the fact that knowing if I ever need its other purpose, its in my pocket. I have had this knife for a month now and I am very pleased with its style, weight, materials used and grip. I do have other knives that I have used as EDC only knives but this knife has a dual purpose which the other knives lack. For me, it carries very well and fits deep in my pocket, plus its light weight and slim design add to is carry ability. Other knives that I have used for EDC with with a comparable blade length are heavier and do not carry as well and seem to take up too much pocket space and are heavy. In short, I am very pleased with this knife.

I really like this blade, deep concealment, sharp and a stout Blade. It doesn't look very practical but once you get it in your hands it is, I highly recommend

This is my first Benchmade knife. I've been trying to decide which model to purchase for about 6 months. I was immediately drawn to 417 FACT when I saw it in the case. I absolutely love the look and and feel of this knife. I look forward to many years of use and finally being in the Benchmade family.

I've always wanted a first production benchmade, so when I saw this knife come out I had to have it. Just received it in the mail today, and I couldn't be more amazed with this knife. Pictures don't do justice until you put it in your hands. The thickness, width, length, and grip of the knife are perfect. This knife is perfect for an all purpose EDC knife for light use at work clipped into a pair of carhartt's, but still slim and sleek enough to fit into a pair of dress pants. Beyond impressed with this knife. You get what you pay for with a benchmade that's for sure.
