The blade is exactly what I would expect from Benchmade, sharp and smooth opening. The handle is a bit bulkier than what I have expected from previous purchases and expected making it print when carrying.

I absolutely LOVE this knife, size is perfect, it carries great, it's light enough that I forget it's there till I need it, and the shape of this blade is perfect for slicing and cutting. You can't beat a benchmade knife! And the price of the Griptilian is honestly reasonable for a blade of this quality.

The weight and feel of this in hand feels very balanced but not overly robust. The grip design feels good but I think may be better in aluminum scales. I love the thumbhole and axis lock combination. The action is smooth and very easy to open and shut one handed without worrying about it closing during tasks. The sheepsfoot blade profile has been great for tasks that requires pressing the blade.

I have carried a Benchmade for over 12 years and I love it. I have purchased several more over the years for family and friends. High quality and the warranty is unheard in today's world. But if your product is good then there is no worry for them!!

Mel Pardue told me the story of when he designed the Griptilian. I loved the story and immediately purchased one. This knife is a just what he described as - I perfect everyday care design. I gave that knife to my grandson along with the history of the story behind it. Since then I purchase three more two as gifts one for my collection. RIP Mel Pardue you will be missed

I own several Benchmade knives and they all have been used as EDC. Used for everything from cutting down cardboard to field dressing deer and never had a failure. All of them hold a great edge.

Bought this because I like blade of my Osborne and the full size grip of my Freek, and this seemed like a nice cross with the bonus of trying out the hole style thumb action. In short, I really like it! Possibly even more than the Osborne and Freek. It's simple, but this is just a less-is-more scenario. The ergonomics are great and it fits well in my hand with a standard grip, however it's worth noting that this is not ideal for tasks requiring a pinch grip. I am a fan of the thumb-hole and the blade's shape and usability. The scales are plenty grippy, but don't feel as premium as other Benchmade offerings- I surmise that's just because the design is oriented towards being a long-living workhorse more than a flashy EDC, which is also reflected in the lower cost of the knife. Overall, this lives up to and surpasses my expectations and I'm very happy with it.

Great design for EDC. Only one complaint: If I open halfway with the thumbhole, then flick the blade the rest of the way, the lock bar gets stuck and is difficult to release. Hopefully this issue will improve with continued use.

Very tough, robust blade and locking mechanism with an equally solid and firm feeling handle. Very versatile, fits the bill for any and everything from cooking over a campfire to opening a letter at home.
