Got these to do hurt
Got these to do hurt man rescue for power line workers. Company's Safety policy restricts fixed blade knifes on the jobsite, so the challenge was to find a safer alternative with an opening large enough to cut the rope in order to rescue the hurt man. The 8 Hook fits the bill perfectly - razor sharp, safe and easy to use. A great tool in our Training Center!

This is one of the best gut hooks I have used. Plenty of leverage. It is not advertised as one on their site takes a bit to find it. . . You want regret it.

Great for safely cutting
I used this model for a "cut down tool" while I worked at a local jail. We couldn't have true knives. When trying to cut down someone who was strung up by their neck you might not want a tool with point or to log of an edge so this was perfect. When I felt like it needed to be sharpened I wrapped a pen in sand paper and used the cylinder to sure up the blade. I got a decent nick in it once but it never failed to cut when there was a life on the line or I just needed to open a letter with out poking anything.
It's a niche tool but I was happy to have it in my kit for a few years. I switched for a shorter version at some point but only to save a little belt space.

Surprisingly good hunting tool
As a disclaimer I have never used this item for its intended purpose. I have cut a few seat belts at a junk yard for my own amusement and it does this very well. Same with paracord, nice clean cuts. However, years ago I found these on sale and bought a bunch and gave them to friends and family who hunt. There is nothing better for cleaning a deer, hands down, small incision with a knife and this thing opens it up like a zipper without a risk of cutting anything that you wouldn't want. Everyone I gave them to has loved it and they carry it with them on every hunt. Great coating to resist rust and stays sharp for years.

Awesome tool
Recently used this tool on an operation and it got the job done. It was very sharp, very effective, but very safe to use. You get a good grip on it and have no issues with it slipping. Plus the blade cuts through tarp and ropes like butter. Get one!

I use it to skin
I use it to skin deer and hogs. Better than a skinning hook, the blunt end keeps you from accidentally cutting the meat.

Excellent experience with the purchase
Excellent experience with the purchase of this safety tool for my boat....price was excellent....when I saw it, I knew it was perfect for my boat, as one of my best friends is on O2. But the hook was also exactly what I needed also.

I use it to cut tape job off of high school football team right now but just to know I have several tools in my hand at any given notice is what made me buy it. I also have the Raptor Shears and love them just the same. Thanks again for the awesome products you guys/gals put out here for us to utilize.

Excellent rescue tool
The perfect cutting tool for the unpredictable nature of patrol. Screaming-sharp from the factory, fits just right in a sap pocket, and the O2 wrench comes in handy for when the FAS hands you a replacement tank with the built-in turner snapped off. This little guy will supposedly cut through soft armor and boot leather in an emergency situation, though I haven't tried it myself; I can say from experience that it'll part a seatbelt in one pull with no particular trouble, and will cleave straight through an underwire without even noticing when setting up for CPR. Also good for when the rookie cuffs up a resisting suspect without taking off his backpack first, and you need to separate bag from perp without perforating anyone's kidneys. An outstanding buy., no regrets.
