I was really hoping this product would have been something special and after two runs with it, it was! I did a couple test runs in-house with it and it went pretty smoothly. However, when I took this same setup to an actual client for a concert, it stopped working. I tried several power cords and different USB connections to no avail. I could hear a very faint whirring inside but the power light did not come on and it wasn't reading on my computer. The kicker was that when I did the Web Presenter setup and connected it via USB on the front (for firmware connections), it said it was up to date and connected. This really ended up being a huge disappointment and something that really sucks when you have to come to a client and tell them the bad news hours before they go on.

This product does not include the power or USB cables that you need to use it. I purchased this unit after a Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder stopped working with my MacBook, and tested it the night before a live event. It seemed to be working fine. On the morning of the event, the product outputted black video with no audio. I checked the camera and all connections and tried changing the input switches on the front of the unit. Nothing resolved the issue and I was unable to stream video from the event. This sort of unreliability makes the product worthless to me in a professional environment.

We purchased this unit to convert our video/audio stream from 1080i@59.97 to 720p@29.97. We captured the video on a 2017 Mac Mini with Open Broadcaster Software, then sent the stream to Vimeo. We conducted several successful tests. Notes to consider: - We noticed on some tests that a few frames dropped initially when starting the stream in OBS. Other times, no frames dropped. - OBS seems to use about 30% of the CPU, so I wouldn't use the Mac Mini for anything else except this purpose if you duplicate our method. - Buy the extra face plate with the display, it's worth it. Conclusion: A Blackmagic device that performs as intended.

The Web Presenter worked great but it was a little complicated connecting with Facebook as it took another program to interact wit it. The connection was not always 100%. This my Cline today did not was to rely on a poor connection during a live demo

I got this to set up a 2-cam live webcast and purchased the HDMI to SDI adapter as well. It's very easy to set up and works just as easily. I kind of wish it had a threaded hole in the bottom so I could mount it on top of my pro camera or on an articulated arm, but those are minor quibbles. It works great and that's what matters most.

Good for quick conversion of video to 720p for streaming via USB webcam protocols, but make sure that you update the firmware. There were significant audio issues addressed with the 1.1 firmware update.

I was really excited to see Black Magic provide this unique product. I needed a configuration to do a FacebookLive stream for a celebrity client this past weekend. I needed a fail-proof solution and the Web Presenter was just that. We connected a lav mic and the Canon 70D via HDMI and the whole thing worked like a charm. Can't wait to be doing more live feeds with this product. Great job Black Magic!
