The BlackMagic HDMI to SDI 3G mini converter is small enough to mount on the SmallRig cage for my Canon M50 Mk II and converts 1080p HDMI to SDI which is successfully captured by the BlackMagic 3G mini recorder. This allows me to use more robust SDI cables to connect my cameras to my computer while maintaining broadcast quality. The 3G does not do 4K, but I am not interested in producing 4K instructional videos for distribution over such things as YouTube or Zoom. Further, the HDMI output from the Canon M50 Mk II is limited to 1080p and USB is limited to 720p.

Works perfectly and is less expensive than other products on the market. Their small size is also a quarter of the size of the converters I previously used. I own several of these for doing live video productions where I convert the HDMI feeds from cameras into the SDI inputs on my switcher. Good product. Good value.

This unit was inexpensive and made the conversion from SDI to HDMI at the TV a simple plug and play. We started out with two bidirectional units first and then found these that allowed us to pair it with one bidirectional encoder.

This is an amazing converter that is simple to hookup and was what we needed to extend the in-house video over long distance runs with full HD 1080p. The one thing that would have made it better is if it could be powered over the cabling and not an external power source. Enabling it to power if if no signal was present would be a nice feature too.

No problems at all with this, although the blinking light on the sdi side that means the HDMI cable has a problem is somewhat confusing.

Did exactly as it said it would. I own a blackmagic atem television studio HD. I have wanted to control the blackmagic pocket cinema camera and especially the zoom in and out settings and it does just that using both sdi ports. I love it and have had no issues with it.

Worked great out of the box was used to set up a Single Sony A6400 Camera for live streaming and in this facility for broadcast on 3 TVs. Lots more oats and pieces used on this Install. This is just one piece of the set up puzzle.

Purchased 3 of these BiDirectional SDI/HDMI converters and they are awesome. Served my needs perfectly and with a little creativity, they can provide a lot of flexible options. They provide both directions simultaneously or a loop back/thru if one of the inputs is not present. Pretty cleverly designed.
