This converter is housed in a compact 1RU design and features four independent bidirectional 12G-SDI to SMPTE-2110 IP video converters using RJ-45 10G Ethernet connections. The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter is not just a converter; it's a power hub. It can supply high power to each 10G Ethernet connection, allowing you to connect four Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pros simultaneously. Each channel is equipped with a 12G-SDI input, and a 12G-SDI program return input that broadcasts to all channels. This converter is part of Blackmagic Design's extensive range of SMPTE-2110 IP video products, which includes converters, video monitors, audio monitors, and cameras. These products are designed to support Ultra HD using cost-effective 10G Ethernet. The bidirectional feature of most converter models makes them ideal for use on cameras when an extra program return is needed. The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter is designed to conform to the SMPTE ST-2110 standard for IP video, including PTP clocks and NMOS support. This allows you to make connections using a video router panel. The converter can also re-sync SDI inputs to a common PTP clock or external gear can lock to the reference output that's also generated from the PTP clock. The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter supports SMPTE-2110-20 uncompressed video, SMPTE-2110-21 traffic shaping/timing, SMPTE-2110-30 audio, and SMPTE-2110-40 for ancillary data. The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter uses simple 10G Ethernet for low cost, and is available in models with RJ-45 connectors for simple Cat6 copper cables or SFP sockets for optical fiber modules and cables. This allows you to build SMPTE-2110 systems at a dramatically lower cost. Installation of the Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter is incredibly easy. It can connect point to point, eliminating the need for a complex Ethernet switch.
