Rated 4 out of 5

Great hardware, crummy software bundle from Blackmagic Design

Works well out of the box. Does what it's supposed to do, which is connect to a monitor that works with Davinci Resolve. However, the Desktop Video software that comes with the driver includes a bundled settings app, which is useful, a Disk Speed Test, which is useful for a minute and cannot be uninstalled, and a Media Express app that's totally unnecessary, unwanted, and cannot be uninstalled. I'd say 4 stars is generous on this product review.

Dedicated preview monitor with big speed tradeoff

I purchased this so I could use the false color on my Atomos monitor for matching a complicated multicam shoot. Pros: It does what it says it does, which allows video output to a dedicated monitor. Cons: Premiere's performance immediately dropped through the floor with delays, hesitations, and latency. An hour of research online couldn't get it all ironed out. I finished the grading project and pulled it out of my PC. Might keep it in the closet in case I need to do similar color matching in the future. This is the cheapest item in this line from BM and the issue may simply be that it isn't a performance card. I'd bet that the more expensive cards wouldn't have the issues I encountered.
