A little heavy as a kit, but you'd want weight when using 10' rolls of backround, especially outdoors. Solid construction, comes with carrying bag. +++

Works pretty good, could be a little more sturdy but that's what you get for the price!

My quilt guild has purchased several of these to replace the big, bulky wooden quilt racks that we use for our quilt shows. These are wonderful! Be sure to purchase the ones that are adjustable in width -- I purchased another brand (for my own use) because it was inexpensive, and I did not realize that it was not adjustable. So, I have to set up it's full 10-foot width! Stick to the Savage!

I have several of the Savage Port-A-Stands and use them frequently. They are a great value and have given me many years of service. I always carry two sets in case of a wider shoot than expected. The stands will "daisy chain" and you can use them to fully enclose a shoot or go ultra-wide.

I use this for portait photography and it has served my needs thus far two months into owning it. I have not had a need to travel with it, but it isn't hard to take down and comes with a travel bag so realistically it would be a reliable travel studio setup. The construction is sturdy and definitely worth the money.

I bought this product to use for pet photography. It's easy to transport and use for that purpose. I will also eventually use it for portraits of family and friends and table top still lifes.

This stand is very simple to set up and use. It didn't come with directions, but is very intuitive to put together. It packs up easily, and although it's a little heavier than I imagined, it is still easy to transport.

Serves the purpose to hold an appropriate cover of an ugly wall.

The set up was fast and steady, only problem is the paper rolls out of control and you need a clamp or something to hold it in place.

I listed "difficult to use" under the "cons" section only because applying the roll of paper to the crossbar and then applying the crossbar to the two stands can be a little tricky if done by yourself (although I've gotten the hang of it). Other than that, this is a quality piece of equipment. Sturdy and reliable. Breaks down neatly and fits into the provided bag so that transporting the stand is extremely easy. The stand alone is definitely worth the price, the extra white paper is a nice bonus. My only suggestion: don't forget to buy 2 clips so that the paper doesn't unroll on you.

I used this Stand from Day 1 of recieving it while shooting ON LOCATION portraits in Office Buildings, Private Homes and ON LOCATION on the field. It is very strong for free-standing with heavy muslin backdrop. In the field I would recommend a sand bag or something to stabilize it from blowing. But in homes, offices it works great

White background could be whiter. Otherwise, a great item.

I wish that it came with a little bit wider seamless paper roll. Otherwise I'm very pleased

I use this to hold all my backgrounds when I'm doing some sort of studio work. I was a little worried about it when I was reading reviews that it was weak, but I disagree completely with them. I have virtually no problems with this stand, and it's at a great value. The only issues I have with it, are the center bar and the travel bag. That bar is a little awkward to use and does threaten to separate if you're not careful (but it pieces back together), and it can be difficult to get the three pieces of the stand in and out of its carrying bag. Other than that though, there are no problems with this background stand. It's lightweight and portable and makes for better photos! Works great with the pre-hemmed Belle Drapes as well. ;)

This works great for my savage paper rolls. Had kids running all over and it was very sturdy. Easy to fold up and carry in included carrying bag. Great if you need to store it.

I like this stand. It sure beats pinning a backdrop on the wall. It obviously gives you a lot more flexibility on where you can set up as a result. It's relatively light but at the same time pretty sturdy unless you max out the extension capability. On my wish list for the manufacturer when making future models is to develop a restraint for the extension rod when it's not in-place. It's real easy to have the small extension rod to come flying out of the the larger rod during setup and take down of the stand. Maybe something like a twist lock between the 2 tubes would work to keep it from slip sliding away. The other thing on my wish list is some hardware to hold backdrops (other than the white paper roll that came with the stand) in-place on the top and side bars would have been real nice. As it was,[...] had some shower curtain holders that worked fairly well. Good product!

Easy to assemble and use. Tears down easily. Adjusts height and width easily. Performs just as advertised. I am using with velour backgrounds and it easily supports the weight. Very satisfied

The two stands and the carrying bag are excellent quality. Bonus:the stands could easily be adapted as additional light stands if needed. The cross bar is a bit flimsy, so if you are using this set up for daily location shoots, you might consider the next level of Savage stand for durability reasons. I only use it occasionally, so I doubt it will be an issue. I'm very pleased with this product.

This background support system is a good basic system. It is lightweight and collapses to a small package for transport. I've only used it with 53" background rolls but it supports wider. The background roll tends to unroll due to the weight of the paper. It would benefit from an unroll-stop mechanism. I use a small spring clamp to prevent the unrolling which works fine. I have not used it with the 10x12 muslin backgrounds but plan to in the future.

[...] Unit arrived well packaged and in perfect shape. No instructions included, but it's a no brainer. I had it together in less than five minutes, and that included about a minutes worth of time'explaining' to my children what it was used for. Seamless white paper seems a nice weight, and there's enough included to have get started and for many photo sessions to come. Note: you will need to get yourself some A-Clamps or the roll will just keep unfurling on you. Overall, I would recommend this to a friend. Nice job Adorama and Savage.

I travel and setup my lights and backdrop indoors at various locations. When I extend them to their limits they came apart and I had trouble putting them back together.
