You don't have any mean of communication other than this one. Your device didn't work.

I have used their converters before with no issues. Unfortunately, this one I purchased was bricked. However, Adorama was quick to help me resolve my problem and I ended up upgrading to the Blackmagic ATEM mini instead. So all in all, it worked out great.

This is a great device for any Mac user looking to stream from their thunder bolt 2 port or thunderbolt 3 port(adapter needed if using thunderbolt3). I have used these for multi shoot camcorders for online streaming. Events, church services, and game streaming. Great product and easy to use!

Black Magic Ultra Studio Mini Recorder is just the right piece of gear for my needs in converting SDI video to a format my MacBook can use. Great device at a reasonable price.

Be careful if you are buying this item to use it with a Sony A7 series camera... do your research.

Doesn't work. We tried everything but could not get it to work at all. Apparently they have had the same problem since 2012.

Once again Blackmagic has taken what used to require rack spaces of gear and compacted it into a device about the size of a regular pack of cigarettes. With a heavy duty case and sturdy connectors that you don't feel will let you down, even if used regularly. It was very quick easy-plug and play operation (once I had downloaded the software) on my Mac. The value in this small but powerful converter is its ability to convert EITHER HD-SDI or HDMI. The only downside is that it uses a Thunderbolt connector (NOT to be confused with DisplayPort or Lightning), and so for most Mac users, you will require an adapter to get the signal to USB-C, which can add to the end cost. I had purchased: 1 x Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter 1 x Thunderbolt 2 (male) to Thunderbolt 2 (male) 3 Foot Connecting Patch Cable

Use this to capture video from Sony a6400, NOT easy. But it seems like to be working fine with other cameras.

Product advertising and documentation doesn't make clear that the output is Thunderbolt 2, not 3. It would not work on a Mac Mini with an Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter.

I needed to find a device so I could use my video cameras and DSLRs for live streaming. This was what I chose and so far I am very happy with it!

Works great for what it was designed for. Software is typical BM. Hard to use but very efficient. Sent it back for only one reason. Stupid thing only does 80MB per second and faster. Really?

Had to return it since it uses older thunderbolt cable to connect - which pretty much makes it a Mac-only device unless you want to invest in conversion cables to convert to another connector so it can work with a pc. Odd that it even current build of this device still utilizes a deprecated technology - especially given the promise of thunderbolt v3.

Love the construction of the product, feels solid and well built. Required just the included software to provide access to external camera source. HDMI & HD-SDI are great for professionals.

Awesome device, too bad they cheap out and don't provide you with a firewire cable! Completely useless without it. Little tricky to get setup with your DSLR, had to call tech support which was fast and knowledgeable. Make sure on you Mac to go into System Preferences after you install the software and choose "Digital" vs the default Analog. Also, this won't work for old analog devices like the Canon XL2.
