The benbo 1 is a strong piece of hardware. I photograph food and landscapes. I need ulitimate freedom, the benbo gives me this. The system does have a learning curve but is a strong conteneder in the market place.

I have used this tripod very minimally and one leg has already froze up. I do not think this is a very well constucted piece of equipment.

The extension arm makes this tripod unique and outstanding. The legs can be spread so the camera is just inches from the ground and the extension arm can be extended so it clears the legs. This allows the camera to be closer to the subject without the legs being a limitation due to a rocky or uneven ground surface. The weight is substantial so its not a tripod that will be backpacked on long hikes but it will perform in an outstanding manner where it can be used. The legs and extension arm are locked and unlocked with a single lever so it is easier to setup without a camera attached. I researched many tripods and think this was an excellent choice.

These heavy-duty tripods offer great stability and are capable of supporting the heaviest of camera equipment, Both the No1 and No2 tripods are constructed from the same tough aluminum tubing, with the No2 tripod offering extra height with its longer legs. The double ended center column offers a choice of standard 3/8" or 1/4" fixing for ball & socket heads.
