Time to explore other companies!

The minute I received this replacement cable I could tell it was much thinner than the one that comes with QC 25's. Unfortunately, it changes the sound of the headphones as well. I used my original cable to test the quality and I was right. This clearly is not the same cord you receive with your headphones and Bose should inform the customer of that before we purchase these things. I have been with Bose since the QC 15's, but there are just too many great competitors at even cheaper price points for me to continue to stick with Bose, especially if this is the quality that they are shipping out now . Time to explore other companies!

Wonderful Headphones - Disastrous Connection.

I recently bought replacement ear pads for my QC 25 Earphones. I then discovered that the jack connecting my device to the headphones was not functioning properly and I now see the replacement cable is out of stock. I was looking forward to using my headphones (as I usually do) on my journeys. When will you have a replacement cable available and can you guarantee the robustness of the connection?

Pretty Good - lasted one year.

My cord finally failed but I must admit the chewing by the cat helped in its demise. I would think they could add some bad flavor to the cords so that animals will not think them a chewy.

Great Headphones - cheap cable

These headphones work and sound fantastic but when paired with a cheap cable, it really dappens the experience. The cable must be held in just the right spot or sound only plays in 1 ear. Disappointing when product costs over $300.

Cable for iphone device without lightening pin?

I bought this cable for my iPhone XR and am surprised it does not come with lightening port. The 3.5mm jack is gone off the iphone models long back. I have to buy an additional converter to suit this. Bose needs to update and upgrade themselves.

Great headphones but very fragile cable

My husband and I both have a set each, great product, good sound but is let down by the cable jack which bends very easily. Mine has broken altogether and I have ordered replacement. Husbands is bent and likely to fail at any time. What a shame this simple connection lets the product down

Great Cord!

I don't know what everyone is complaining about this cord for. Though I have used it primarily in conjunction with another Bose cord, the headphone extension cord, to get further length for listening while plugged in to my HDTV. Works fantastically for me!

Very expensive headphones but the cable is rubbish. Very fragile jack plug. Not sure if I can get a non Bose one for less money. Extremely disappointing.

Connector mic not working most of the time

I have had my headsets for a few months and love them but the cord mic end is very sensitive to being slightly bent during normal use and causes me to loose connections when I am in the middle of a conversation. It’s frustrating as I take care of my belongings! Please fix this.

Great noise cancelling sound, shoddy cord!!

Same as multiple others on this post. My cord unfortunately got damaged while plugged into an armrest while flying, the pin got slightly bent. Now, however no sound comes out when attached to any device. Bose should definitely work to redesign or beef up this cord in the future, as I'm now faced with the initial expense of having to replace the cord. Otherwise great noise cancelling headset which has been so fantastic as a frequent flyer with work.

Great headphones but cord not so good

I love these headphones but like many of the other comments my cord is now broke. The woman next to me had to use the bathroom and the connector broke. Bad thing is it was only 1 hour into my 10 hour flight.

Very poor cable.

I’ve used my quiet comfort headphones (gift from my wife) about 10 times on long train journeys over the last 4 years and otherwise they live in my case pending the next journey. Using the headphones on my iPad at home for the first time, the right angled jack fractured inside the iPad socket, disabling the sound completely. I managed to retrieve the terminal fragment but the headphones are rendered useless. On reading the reviews and contacting customer services by email to inform them, I have been invited to return the headphones as they are complex for a replacement with 12 months warranty at approximately £135. - really for a cable? Reading all these reviews, it’s about time Bose acknowledge this issue as the cable appears to be of non merchantable quality. I have ordered a replacement cable as the headphones are useless without one. My other premium headphones by another manufacturer have given 20 years service without incident. I’ll choose another make in the future.

Great headphones but the cable is disappointing

I love my QuietComfort noise canceling headphones...I can't fly without them! But I, like many others, have unfortunately experienced durability issues with the cable connector. It looks as if my connector was also damaged on a fight somehow. I've never experienced this with any other headphones I've used on a plane. And now the sound cuts in and out or only comes through the left side unless I hold the connector in exactly the right place. Now I'll need to purchase a replacement before my upcoming flight, which is disappointing as I've usually had great experiences with Bose products and their durability.

not up to the job

like so many other people the plug bent with very little movement when plugged into the aircraft system. So no noise cancelling, no quality sound for the 14 hours of flights on the way home. Really very poor for a supposedly premium product. This was the first time using them on planes!

Too Easily Damaged

This is my second replacement because the cable keeps getting bent on airplane jacks. Because it's less than $50 I have to pay shipping for something that's a Bose design flaw. As others have said, the Bose engineers need to resolve this.

Great headphones but dodgy cable which broke

I have had the QC 25 for 3 months now and use them whenever I travel. They are superb but on my last trip the cable end point snapped when I tried to put it into the aeroplane arm socket. I was left on a 9hr flight not able to listen to any sound from the aeroplane entertainment. Had to resort to the terrible aeroplane head phones. What a shame the cable ends are so weak for the price I paid for these headphones!!!!!

Disappointing

I bought these about one month ago to take on a trip to Italy. Used them once on my iPad when the plug broke off in the iPad leaving me with no earphones and no sound on my iPad. Very disappointing.

Cord is a very real problem

The headphones work wonderfully and I am thrilled with the noise reduction and sound quality. However, I am on cord #4. I have had to replace 3 times so far (plus the card it came with...) and at the price point, it’s a problem. Budget for replacement cords when you buy these, but otherwise, a great product.

Less than robust cable

A Christmas present and only used a few times and only on flights. As with most complaints on this site the jack has broken. We own other Bose pieces of equipment and love the quality and design but sadly disappointed with the quality of this cable.

Earphones great cable not at all

Like many people here i had the same problem the cable has stopped working and have used them maybe 7 times on flights only there less than 18 months old always in there case between travels so well looked after but apparently the cable is an accessory and not covered under the 2 year warranty !! and want me to pay £21.95 for a new cable, ive said haw can it be an accessory if you cant use it without the cable. terrible service from a company that charge so much for there products.

Excellent sound quality - dreadful cable.

Have had these headphones since the start of the year and have used regularly at home and work and have been blown away by the sound quality and the effectiveness of the noise cancelling in most situations. I bought them in anticipation of a flight and, like many other people here, saw the connector cable break in the in flight entertainment system with very little force applied. Then spent the next 7 hours using some awful airline headphones. If I hadn’t been spoiled by the quality of the QC25 sound, the airline headphones might have seemed adequate! The replacement cost of the cable is exorbitant and I would seriously think about buying Bose products again as a result of this, along with the couldn’t care less experience I had in the Bose store informing me that they had no cable, so a long quiet flight home beckons.

Fragile connector

I have had a similar experience to most of the reviewers on here, attached to in flight entertainment system when it was nudged slightly and then it snapped. Left soundless for a 14 hour flight. Not what I expect from such high price headphones.

Headphones work great - amazing sound quality. But like others that have commented, the pin that plugs into the airline seat got damaged with just a light bump. Bose should work on strengthening this component.

Terrible

As everyone says here, you buy a premium product at significant cost and an essential component is flimsy rubbish. I'm on my third. First broke in the socket. Second the volume and mic didn't work from the moment I bought the replacement lead. It's my first Bose purchase and never again.

Love the headphones, hate the upkeep

My favorite headphones ever. I've had the QC25 for almost three years I believe. Problem is, I've had to replace the cushions twice, and now I'm about to have to get my third cord replacement. I would buy from the site, but it's thirty bucks for a product I just replaced and is already broken. The cord I have now only plays out of one side, and I've had this replacement for one month. It's about to render these headphones useless, which is a shame because it's a very good product otherwise. I'm just not willing to pay hundreds of dollars to keep them in working shape.

Very Fragile Cable

I love these headphones, but the cable is way too fragile - on a flight I plugged them into the inflight entertainment and the connector snapped to the side when my neighbour moved the armrest slightly. Now the headphones only play out of one ear. The replacement is very expensive and I wouldn't feel confident using them on an airplane again.

Great sound, awful durability

My husband received the headphones as a birthday present 2 years ago, in less than 3 months we had to replace the cord, right after 5months again the cord ruined, he bowed to be more careful but no dice, unfortunately we had death in the family and weren’t able to get the cord, until this last Christmas/birthday I bought it again but a month into waiting and still no headphones
