I have the Bose Companion 2 or 3.. can't remember, but I just got the 5 TODAY. I'm glad to say i'm very happy with my purchase. I love this. Excellent quality as always!

I've had these for close to ten years. If you find a better set please let me know. They work great with every version of Windows (read reviews, computer issues are not speaker problems)... as well as have the input jack for phones/headsets and such. Tried to blow them multiple times and haven't succeeded. The bass is plenty and adjustable, it's not the same as a car with a couple 12" subs rattling the license plate if that's what you are looking for though. The sound is crystal clear and I would highly recommend! If you would like to skip the USB input and want direct audio in, the Companion 3 is a great alternative if you can find them. My review for those is the same, you just don't get the virtual surround bonus.

I have 2 pairs of the Companion 5 speakers. Over the years I have tried numerous brands of computer speakers. These are the best, by far. The sound is amazingly crisp and clear.

I bought this many years ago maybe 7 years or more and almost nothing tech I own for even half that time is any good but they got it right the first time and were ahead of there time that is for sure. I use them in my office and I can have it low and sound great but I can even turn them up and have a full blown office party. Best purchase of the last decade for me hands down.

Each time my computer goes into Sleep Mode the speakers shut down and won't come back. I then have to restart the computer in order for them to work again, which means I have to close all my programs and reopen them all again. This is a HUGE PAIN!!! Apparently, there is no fix for this even tho it is a problem for years. (Search the net to see for yourself. Purchased these over 5 years ago and they still perform as if brand new. When positioned as recommended the sound is absolutely incredible. Just today I checked the Bose web site and looked these up and was not at all surprised that they cost just as much as when I purchased them originally. I highly recommend getting a set of these. I really don't know how they could sound any better for a PC speakers.

I recently had to replace the audio cable (PC-subwoofer) for my sound system, and looked up when I purchased it: 2007. Bose no longer makes the Companion 3, but I can attest to the fact that they engineer a built-to-last product. Or possibly, I should state more cautiously, they certainly did in 2007!

Just hooked up my Companion 2 speakers. The sound is good but no match for my ten year old $40 Altec speakers (which included a subwoofer). Will probably send them back.

The speakers switch off after 2 minutes of no sound.You have to get up and switch them on again, constantly. I've had mine since 2010 and they've never let me down.They impress everyone who sees/hears them. I used to have them as computer speakers but now they serve as a full blown surround for our main tv. They are capable of amazing things. It doesn't get any better than these.

I have both and I reproduce music from my Spotify account... So, now I have a "SoundTouch Companion 5"... you must try it.

Bose system was awesome prior to me upgrading to Windows 10. Since then my Bose system will not read on Windows 10 and Bose has failed to put out any upgraded drivers to fix the issue.

I purchased this system with my Apple MacBook in April of 2009. Since then, I've used these speakers for outdoor summer jams in my backyard every year, and I've had folks commend me on having the best sound system ever! I'm getting my money's worth every time I use it, whether it's on my computer, or on Saturdays while doing my household chores, and cooking my favorite meals, my music never sounded better!

I purchased this unit back in 2013 and it has proven to be money well spent. After four years I haven't found a sound system that can approach it, at least not without spending twice as much. The speakers appear small, but they pack a big punch, as does the sub woofer. The connections are simple, and set up is as easy as plugging in the USB cable and turning the unit on. I remain fully satisfied with this system and there are no plans to replace it.

Wish there was a way to use a digital audio optical cord with this product. Then I could connect it to my television for extra bass and sounds. Works great with my iPhone using a regular audio auxiliary cord.

I purchased these in 2009 and use them with my Mac. Never had any issues. Has excellent sound quality, with the "punch" to really fill a place with sound. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone. BTW, because of their size, they are great for providing your sound at presentations.

I had always wanted a Bose sound system since I had seen a demo at an exhibition when I was young. We couldn't afford it due to the cost. But the day I got my first paycheck I went along with my mother and got this system so that we as a family that appreciates good music could enjoy music the way it is to be heard.... The system is incredible and provides you accurate sounds with no distortion at high levels. The clarity is like none other I have scoped and the quality is amazing.

I have had my speakers for over 5 years and there is really nothing I can add concerning the sound quality. It's fabulous. The feature I enjoy the most is the puck controller. I almost always have music in the background when I'm in my study. When the phone rings, I tap the puck and the sound is muted. When I hang up, I tap the puck and there is sound. Just a slight movement of the volume ring easily adjusts the volume. I purchased my speakers from a Bose Outlet Store (factory refurbished) and I saved a significant amount, but even at full retail, these speakers are worth every penny.
