A Bosch Discussion Device with a Short-Stem Fixed Microphone, designed for seamless integration with the CCS 1000 Digital Discussion System, offers a sophisticated solution for modern meetings. Available in a sleek Traffic Black/Pearl Light Gray finish, this device connects effortlessly in a daisy chain configuration to the system's Control Unit, ensuring quick setup and reconfiguration without the need for system power down or restart.
The device's plug-and-play functionality allows for easy connection and removal, making it ideal for dynamic meeting environments. Participants can engage in discussions using the microphone and listen through the built-in loudspeaker or optional headphones, providing flexibility and clarity in communication.
Key features include a unique patent-pending possible-to-speak indicator, which uses a white light above the microphone button to signal when the microphone is ready for activation. Additionally, a green request-to-speak indicator, located both above the microphone button and in the microphone head, alerts users when their request is queued, flashing when they are first in line.
The device is equipped with a fixed microphone featuring a flexible stem, available in short (310mm/12.2") or long (480mm/18.9") lengths, allowing users to adjust for comfort. The built-in loudspeaker, centrally controlled from the Control Unit, ensures optimal intelligibility, while the simultaneous operation of the loudspeaker and microphone creates an authentic face-to-face meeting experience.
For environments with excessive background noise, the 3.5mm stereo headphones socket provides clear audio, with a rotary thumbwheel on the device's side for volume adjustment. To prevent acoustic feedback, the system can automatically reduce headphone volume when the microphone is active.
The device's immunity to GSM interference guarantees clear, uninterrupted discussions. It can be configured as either a participant or chairperson's device, with no system restart required. In chairperson mode, a priority button allows the chairperson to overrule participant microphones, accompanied by a chime to signal their intent to speak.
Controls include a microphone button with color-coded LED indicators for microphone status, request-to-speak, and possible-to-speak states. A light-ring indicator in the microphone head, a concealed initialization button for network address reassignment, and a slide-switch for device configuration are also featured.
Connections are facilitated through a 6-pole circular female connector for loop-through connection, a 3.5mm stereo headphones socket, and a 2m cable with a 6-pole circular male connector with a cable lock.
Installation is straightforward, with each device delivered with a participant's microphone button, easily exchangeable for chairperson's buttons using the supplied tool. Two sets of chairperson's buttons are included with each Control Unit, and the concealed slide switch at the device's base allows for quick configuration changes from 'participant' to 'chairperson'.
