Tinnitus gone! Sleep = yes!

I work nights and these are so effective to let me sleep while the rest of the house is noisy. Bonus! It rids my Tinnitus too with the white noise feature. Best purchase EVER!

Game changer!

I invested in this device to control wind noise while riding my motorcycle. The ear plugs I used were just not getting the job done. As soon as I got on the interstate, I realized that this was a great investment. They fit inside my helmet and dull the roar of wind over the surfaces. This exponentially improved ride quality.

Great Sound—Cheap Build

I have owned four of these between myself and family. Sound is wonderful. But truly made very cheaply. Wires will fray. Ear buds themselves actually split in half (on three of them), the plastic cover of the control device will fray and fall off (always) and the tabs that keep the rubber earpiece in place will brake. I have glued them back together a number of times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it destroys them! These would be acceptable at under $100. For $250 to never last a year.. not acceptable.

Great Headphones, but they wear poorly over time

I've had my earbuds since 2016, and I have loved them very dearly. the battery life is fantastic and the noise canceling is amazing although I have not tried any of bose's other notice canceling headphones for myself. One issue I have is that there is a buzzing in the right earbud now only when the noise canceling is active and I am not sure why. I am going to try and fix it if I can because I do not want to have to buy a whole new pair. Also, although this is not a big deal, the rubber coating on the battery peels off very easily and it is not glued on well at all. Overall these headphones are a great buy especially if you get them on bose's black Friday sale and save a lot of money.

Defect after 2 years. The left side is breaking apart and making ridiculous noise. Can't use any more.

WHEN WILL THERE BE A NEW MODLE

I purchased a pair of the QC 20 headphone back in 2016, and I absolutely enjoyed using the product. The noise cancelling is fantastic! However, since it is 2020, I cannot wait for Bose to release a new model!

Purchased in September 2013 and still going strong

I purchased these in September 2013 and the noise cancelling still appears to be better than the new Bluetooth wireless earphones like the Sony wf-1000xm3, which I was seriously considering purchasing to replace the Bose earphones after a crack appeared in the wiring. However, after a few months of looking at the pros and cons of buying the wf-1000xm3, I decided to purchase another QC20 because I personally like the Q tips and unlike Bluetooth earphones, they don't drop out. To fix the crack in the wiring, I wrapped the cord with nylon string. The rubber casing fell off two months ago, but it doesn't affect the performance of the QC20. Also, the clip broke about a year to two years ago.

Incredible sound. Bad cable.

First let me be clear, my two-star review is not because of the performance (i.e. sound quality) of these headphones. The sound is phenomenal and the noise cancellation is excellent. Wearing these completely eliminates the air conditioning rumble in the office or the turbine noise on a airline flight. they are comfortable for wearing for long periods, although you may have to try more than one of the rubber pieces to find what works best for you. The whole reason for the two stars is that the durability of the cable is poor. I found "liquid electrical tape" at Home Depot and am using it to hold the cable together, but it is only a matter of time before this fails. Bose should have made the cable connections much more robust, this is, after all, portable headphones. When the cable completely fails, unfortunately I *will* buy a replacement, but I would gladly pay more for durability. Also, when using these for a phone call, I am constantly getting comments that people cannot hear me, so the microphone is apparently not very good.

Great Headphones!

I bought my first pair of these about 5 years ago. I recently got a second (replacement pair) since I wore the heck out of these. I drive a bus for hours a day with loud people. Even with 1 earbud in, the quality is great. I love these things. I've considered moving to a Bluetooth pair but I love that the battery can go dead and the music keeps playing. I also don't have to deal with connection issues, and i can also charge while istening to music. Win, win!

Not even close to a good product

I bought these as my no Bluetooth highly acclaimed and praised noise cancelling solution. I was seriously disappointed. Not only did it take me close to an hour to find the right seal (and I eventually did), the noise cancellation was pathetic. I have an MPOW pair of 29db noise isolating headphones that do a WAY better job of blocking out noise. Not to compare buds to phones, the over the ear is a thousand times better. Everyone praises the noise isolation on these, but I could hear almost everything except a refrigerator, and that was mostly due to the seal on the ear. A couple of earplugs from your local pharmacy is a lot better price option, than sporting $200 on a bunch of buds that are quite uncomfortable and do a pathetic job of noise cancelling. Not even close to the advertising and yes I had the seal correct. Save yourself some money and look elsewhere for noise cancelling solutions.

Good sound but poor build quality

I've had 2 pairs, the first failed after about 14 months and the second set I had repaired after about the same period which I've then subsequently had to glue/repair myself. The problem stems from two things, one a clear design flaw. The three weak points are the 90 degree angle jack, both sets of mine failed there, then there is where the wire goes in to the battery. With all the bending it fails there too followed lastly by the other side of the battery for the same reason. If they lasted they would be worth the money as they are comfortable, the NC is great, and the sound is good. Due to the build quality issues however they clearly aren't so I ended up getting the wireless Bose with the neck battery and they are better. Be warned however with those too, high levels of heat (like when I'm on holiday) causes the glue to melt and the covers for the neck brace come away, on to my second pair of those lesson learnt.

Money well spent!

The QuietComfort 20's are the best noise canceling earbuds I've ever owned. I used them heavily during periods of frequent international travel, and they make plane rides significantly more pleasurable. The battery lasts a very long time, the noise cancelling is good, the ear inserts are the most comfortable I've ever used, and it all comes with a soft case. I only have two minor complaints. First, the toggle button on the controller broke for me, so I could not switch between noise canceling and non noise canceling without reaching into my pocket to flip the switch. Secondly, it was always tricky to get the battery and headphone jack to sit nicely with my phone in my pocket. The best way was with the jack pointing straight down, forcing it to absorb pressure from the phone in many cases. Otherwise, I'd recommend this product to everyone.

Faithful companion across continents

I purchased these in August 2015 before I was going to China. Long airline rides to and from Asia and Europe are transformed into pleasant soundscapes that by the top-notch noise cancelling technology in these headphones. They have been one of the best investments for entertainment I have ever made. I have used them for running for the past 5 years, and they have never missed a beat. The earbud cases came apart in 2017, but I just glued them back together and I haven't had an issue since. To avoid that problem, always remove the buds by grabbing them from in your ears, rather than tugging on the cord. It has taken this long (as of June 2020) for the battery to show any signs of age by not lasting quite as long as it used to. By that I mean it only lasts for 6-8 hours instead of 14-18. They are finally one their last legs, however, because the connection to the battery case and the cord to the earbuds has gone through too much pinching and bending over the 1000+ hours it has spent in my pocket. I have started to notice that the audio cuts out if it is not in the exact right position to complete the circuit over the worn out wires. If it weren't for that reason, these earbuds would last another year at least, until the battery would succumb to the fate faced by all batteries. Everyone should purchase Bose audio equipment. I will purchase another soon.

Great while they lasted... which wasn't long.

I received these NC headphones as a gift from my wife. They were awesome when traveling on airplanes as you couldn't hear anything around you. I've only had them for 3 years and they were sparingly used. Now I can't get sound out of the right earbud. I believe the cable is damaged since I only hear things intermittently. Therefore these headphones cost me $100+ per year. I doubt I've used them more than 50 x. I wouldn't recommend them based on their lack of durability. I'm now out of warranty and instead of fixing them Bose offered to sell me a new set. No thanks!

Best Investment I've Ever Made

I bought these headphones 4 years ago. I've used them for multiple travels and used them at home on a regular. The other day, I thought about testing my products batteries because of curiosity. I played music at the 2 notches below maximum volume (don't want to blow speakers) and ran it for as long as possible. I got 17 hours and 34 minutes. After 4 years. I understand that this product is not cheap, but the all sources say "up to 16 hours". After 4 years of usage, I was able to get this product to last 17 hours and 34 minutes. This makes this product the only product I've ever found to "do better than advertised". Sound : I'm no audiophile like when I was younger but from over 15 years of listening to music and appreciating rap music, rave music, drum and bass and productivity work music; I can honestly say that these earphones produce good sound. Would they compare the same with the best of the best for clarity and tight bass? Probably not, Bose tune headphones for the general public, they're not meant for music production. Durability : These are corded and should be treated as such, I work in quite controlled professional environments so I don't really run into durability problems with any of my products but I would not recommend taking this to the gym. Comfort : The design is good, it does not fall out of my ears, and it's very compact so you don't have a lug a small box around with you unlike headphones. Value : Although expensive, I have chosen to use these QC20's over my noise cancelling headphones because it does almost the same job and with great sound. This product is probably the greatest investment I've ever made to my travelling gear arsenal.

Excellent Headphones

I have the Android version of the QC20 and love them! The sound quality is spectacular and a treat to my audiophile hearing. I enjoy listening to my legacy recording and hearing sounds and instruments that I wasn't aware was there all these years. The earbuds are super comfortable and stay in place during my run or bike ride. I also use the QC20 as sound reduction when I mow the lawn. I can barely hear the lawnmower when I have music on. Buy these and you won't be disappointed.

Love these but durability a bit disappointing.

I've had my QC 20 headphones for about 2.5 years and I love the sound and noise cancelling aspect, unfortunately the aux cable has ripped at the 90 degree bend, even though I've been careful with them, definitely a weak point and disappointing, for the price I'd expect them to be more durable. The cover is also peeling off the battery but not overly worried about that.

Horrible Customer Service

I thought Bose was supposed to be a great company that backed up that backed up their product. I bought these headphones for the 3 or 4 times per year that I travel. They are older, but used seldom due to what they were purchased for. The male adapter bent and now the headphones can no longer be used. I called for repair because they are expensive and in fine working order otherwise. They are out of warranty and they DO NOT repair, but oh of course you can replace them with another pair...Ugh! Never again Bose!

Great noise cancellation & sound, BAD microphone

The noise cancellation is amazing, far better than the early QC2 headphones I had. Flip the switch, and the outside sounds disappear. They're really comfortable to wear and stay in place. BUT... the microphone is awful. Every single phone or video call ends up with people saying "I can't understand you, it's really muddled." So they're great for music, but REALLY bad for two way communication, which is a big disappointment for the price. Bose, put some attention to the mic next time and not just the earpiece!

Highly recommended to block out snoring

I bought these back in December after Bose recalled their sleepbuds. After testing over $1000 on various anti snoring solutions, these turned out to be the best. I plug them into an old phone (airplane mode) running a white noise app and put them both in a fabric workout belt so they stay with me if I turn over. Between the ANC and low-volume white noise, I can't hear any snoring. The only environmental sounds that get through are one-off high-frequency sounds which ANC can't do much about. With 16 hours of battery life, they cover me for two nights. I have two bits of constructive feedback. 1) The mic picks up outside wind very easily on phone calls 2) I have read reviews about the aux cable ripping at the 90 degree bend. As such, I never let the ANC box free hang, which can make it awkward to use since I feel I must hold it at all times. Perhaps I'm being paranoid though.

Simply Phenomenal

By SquatchSlaya

These headphones are incredible. I can't believe how good the noise canceling is in these little things. I actually find myself using these more often than the QC25s simply because it's much easier to sleep with these on while on a plane, and because they're so much more portable. I highly recommend these headphones!

Simply the BEST!!

By Gerryl

I bought my QC20i headphones on day one and have nothing but praise for them. I happened to see the QC20 in new colours on the Bose website and noticed from the images that the headphone mini jack has had a re-design making it a better fit with some iPad cases (I use the Logitech AnyAngle) where the QC20i mini jack caught on the side of the case. I now have the QC20 for Apple devices in black and have recycled my QC20i. I would not consider travelling without them. The noise cancelling, espe...

Lose yourself in your music
QC20 headphones let you experience music on the go as never before. You'll enjoy lifelike, digital sound quality that stands out from the noise around you-plus the freedom of an in-ear headphone. StayHear+ tips physically block some noise while their Acoustic Noise Cancelling technology electronically reduces most of what's left. It's just you and your music, even in noisy environments.

Tune in to your environment
But there are moments when you may not want to be so cut off from your surroundings. Crossing a city street. Waiting for airline gate announcements. This is where Aware mode comes in. Instead of removing your headphones, just press a button and you're back in touch with the sounds around you-while your music keeps playing and you still experience some noise cancellation.

Engaging sound
All this, plus Bose lifelike sound. Sound you wouldn't expect from in-ear headphones. Their TriPort technology and Active EQ combine to give your music a depth and balance that keep your daily soundtrack fresh and alive. The subtle details shine through, too. So wherever you are, your music's front and center.

Advanced ear tip technology
And your music's even easier to enjoy when you're not fussing with your headphones. Proprietary StayHear+ tips create a soft, secure fit with no need to force them into your ears. The cone shape spreads contact evenly across the ear for maximum comfort and forms a gentle seal that contributes to the headphones' full-spectrum noise reduction.

You're in control
Controls are all at your fingertips. Use the slider switch on the control module to turn noise cancelling on and off. The inline microphone/remote houses Aware mode and call answer/end buttons. The 4-button remote, provides volume and music control plus access to voice-recognition apps, like Siri or Google search.

Rechargeable battery
The lithium-ion battery (located inside the module) charges in just 2 hours with the included USB cable and delivers up to 16 hours playing time per charge. A battery indicator light displays power status. And, even if the battery dies your music still plays with performance equal to that of their regular in-ear headphones. When not in use, simply store your headphones and cables in the included carrying case.
