Bose 131 Marine Speakers, Arctic White

It is the second Time i have to change my marine speakers (131) installed on my boat. After 3 years (like the first time), one of them stopped working and now I have to buy a new pair

I have owned my boat less than three years. I have replaced the cones once and now both have failed again. We don't hose them and they are in a semi protected area, but the boat is on the water all year round. I dont think the cones are up to a salt water environment. They sound fantastic when they are working though!

we have these in our boat for about 8 years and they look and sound great, very happy with the sound. We do need a replacement cover due to it blew off going down the road not sure why that happened never had a problem with it before. If you can advise where to get a replacement cover I'd appreciate it. Overall very satisfied with speakers.

I installed a pair of 131 in my boat when I purchase it new in 1998. It stays in my driveway on a trailer except when I'm out in it. It is now 2016 and they are still working great with the exception of a cracked grille on one speaker that was the result of a 69 lb cobia that smacked it with its tail a couple weeks ago. Im currently looking for a replacement grill but will replace with another set of the same speaker if I can't find a grill.

Excellent sound quality, I bought the models 131, 191 and 791 and although all have excellent sound quality this particular model has left me impressed.

In about a ten year period I have had a speaker go bad three times. when they work it sounds great. I boat about 150 hours a season on salt water and keep my boat in a slip. It seems like the speaker can not take constant hose off or raw water wash down of the deck. Speaker is mounted low to deck and will get oversplash when cleaning the boat. I'm tired of replacing speaker and plan to cover cut out hole with plate covers.
