I bought this 2 days ago. I had what I thought was a decent home theater setup but bought a new piece of console furniture and was looking for smaller speakers - best option was the Acoustimas. I went to best buy and kept searching until I saw it on the ground by itself. The entire system is perfect for my setup with my Yamaha receiver. Once I came home, set it all up and turned it on, WOW! Difference in sound was like night and day! I hesitated because of the price tag BUT these are forever speakers! Sounds are louder, bass is amazing! And dialogue is crisp and clear! Never going back to another brand.

It doesn't work without a third party amplifier which cost approximately 5o to 60k.

Not willing to give a 5 only because of set-up frustrations with my situation Satisfied with the sound but the connections are not designed for someone 1) using a projector and all equipment at the rear of the room AND 2) wants to use in-wall wiring for a neat set-up. If the bass module could be placed in the rear of the room (and not the screen end) the aggravation could be somewhat alleviated. But one has to run all wiring from the reciever up the walls and over the ceiling to the other end of the room (screen-end) and then take the connectoins back the same path from the acoustimass bass module to the rear speakers. I dont know if all that additional wiring will affect the audio quality but it is indeed very frustrating!

While in my opinion Paradigm's MilleniaOne is a better sounding system, it's also a little larger and a lot more expensive. For price and form factor you can't beat the Acoustimass 10. Owned mine 3 years and very happy

I have purchased this system before 7 yrs .I would like to review about this .First of all sound is great .Second this now since all tv are 4k this system is not capable with any sound bar .The receivers are very expensive to get 4k effect .I hope bose has trade in system where we can give back and invest more and get new systems .I am looking for receivers which give good quality sound bcz the one I am using not able to get theater quality sound .I hope bose comes with receivers and less wiring

This is an absolutely terrible system for the price. Notice they never call the "Acoustimass Module" a subwoofer. That's because it is not. It has tiny midrange drivers which are not large enough to be considered a real sub, because they simply cannot dig down low enough to create truly deep bass. The satellite speakers speakers use 2.5" paper cones which are neither small enough to be considered a tweeter or large enough to cover the entire midrange spectrum. What you're left with is a highly-compromised system. One which cannot recreate high notes (i.e. the "sparkle" that makes cymbals come alive) or truly deep bass (the rumble that you *feel* instead of just hear), and relies on the "bass module" to cover the midrange frequencies typically handled by the satellite speakers. This quite literally leaves a hole in the middle of the frequency range and means deep male voices will be coming from the box in the corner instead of the centre/stereo channels where it should. For this amount of money you can buy a pair of bookshelf speakers that dig deeper, reach higher, and cover the entire frequency range with no gaps. Add in a bargain-basement subwoofer and you will have an experience that absolutely destroys this system quality-wise. It's almost embarrassing.

I’ve owned others and then I got my first acoustimass system about 14 years ago. Now I have the 10 series and have owned this one for about 7 years. Can’t beat it. Now when I play music for parties I need more bass so I run 2 extra subs. Sound is unbelievable from such small speakers. you just can’t go wrong with Bose.

Does anyone know if the bass module/sub box would work with any other sound bars? Whether it be a Bose or something else with an analog output?

It sounds mindblowing with Marantz sr7012. Bass is so amazing that I had to turn down bass to -4 on receiver and 30% on bass module. I have added two front height speakers for dolby atmos overhead effect. It definitely takes any music or movies to a whole new level. Over all I recommend this product.

I have combined a 5.1 acoustimass 16 series and a 2.1 acustimass 5 series in my theatre room and have already repalace the centre speaker 3 times and have replaced the 2 front speakers 4 to 5 times which has cost nearly $3000 in speakers over a 3 year period not happy with this system at all

Sound is as expected. Wiring a mess. I whish the designer installed a system by themselves before getting the design to production. All wires go underneath the subwoofer. Unless you post the subwoofer perpendicular to the wall or run them through the floor they will be wisible. Trimming the wires requires soldering.

I bought this system 6 months ago and coupled it with Denon X2400h avr. The sound is crystal clear but the bass is not that immersive. At some place within the room it's perfect ( feel like I couldn't get anything better than this ) but at some places it seems that no subwoofer is connected. I did all the settings and contacted Bose also for the same but their service in India is so bad, all I got from Bose support is they told me it's just a speaker system and we cannot help you if you're not getting room filling bass from the bass module. So at some spaces I regret buying Bose.

I purchased the original Accustimass 10 in 2006 at a great price from the now defunct Circuit City. Although the TV, receiver and furniture has changed several times, the quality of sound and great performance has not. Visiting local Bose showrooms over the years, I still have not heard anything, Bose or other brands, that can beat the experience of this system. (Except for for the V series. )

I've owned a couple if the original Life styles 5.1 systems dating back to the late 1990's I also own a 3.1 system for gaming. With out a doubt this is their best system to date. Not cheap but you get exactly what you pay for. Customer for life!

Bought this in 2002 and haven't looked back. Still functions perfectly (changed receiver a couple times). Works great for movies and TV shows but can also pump music out like it's a club.

I was looking for a compact theater system for our condo. Something that will sound great but not take up a lot of space and will be generally unobstrusive in the room and not disturb our neighbors. I auditioned three systems in the same price range: Bose Acoustimass 10 and two that will go unnamed per Bose's notice to refrain from mentioning competitors. I'll just say that there was a clear order of finish, one of the competitors went home...the Bose went quickly on craigslist. For the same price I got speakers that are detailed and airy, bass that is tight, articulate, musical, and authorizative when called upon for theater passages. They are a bit larger, not much, which was a factor but the improvement in sound quality is well worth it.

I know Bose is a quality product, but I coundn't find the response frequency nowhere on this presentation material, which , I think, is very important specification to be found by potential buyer.

Installed in the basement for weekly group session. Expectation was high but performance is poor. Most times only front speakers work, occasionally all . I had AM3 and AM5 systems and they were better in last 20 years of use.

I bought my first Bose theatre sound system, Cinemate, 5 years ago and was impressed with the quality of the sound for such a small system (3 speakers) . I was so impressed I purchased an Acoustimass system (6 speakers) for our living room smart tv. The full, rich, quality sound fills the room much like the sound in a theater. To me, this is the best bang for your buck, bar none.

sold on the system since I got a demo on it when I was 9 years old. finally got it for my parents place and I'm super proud of it. since they had existing wiring in the walls, I had to buy some wire adapters that I wish they mentioned in the owners manual. other than that it sounds superb!

Absolutely love my AM 10 speakers! In my view Bose makes the best speakers/headphones out there and they are the only speakers we buy at my house. :-)

Awesome home theater, can't explain...scared with neighbors.
High-performance surround sound
Spacious, five-speaker performance. Powerful bass. Sleek design. The Acoustimass 10 Series V speaker system has it all for component-minded home theater enthusiasts. It's Bose best-performing Acoustimass system, with redesigned Direct/Reflecting Series II cube speakers that pair nicely with your HDTV. Resounding bass performance from an advanced Acoustimass module lets you enjoy all your entertainment even more, every day. And if you don't have an existing receiver, you can complete the package with a powerful, feature-rich Onkyo receiver.
A new look for home theater
Direct/Reflecting speakers have always provided powerful sound from a small design. And now they have made them even better, with a slimmer profile and precisely angled drivers inside the speaker for an immersive audio experience. They make a great match for your HDTV and flushmount to your wall with optional brackets. They're easy to install and eliminate nearly two inches of extension from the wall compared to the previous model.
