I had the misfortune of two different sets of Bose speakers going on within a week of each other. (They were 18 and 21 years old! They definitely served me well.) After realizing they were discontinued, go figure, I settled on this set from Adorama. They had the best price and quickest arrival time. They shipped on time and arrived in perfect condition. They are true to form Bose....great!!! Good customer service for pre-purchase questions and easy to navigate site and purchase through. Very pleaesd.

After waiting for them to be back in stock for several weeks I received the speakers as planned. They sound good but not spectacular. Bass is definitely lacking. Subwoofer is not powered separately and that may be why. I have it places in a corner as suggested. I'm using a 400 watt receiver/amp so I believe they are powered adequately. The high end is very good. Mids and lower end not so much.

I purchased the AM5 Series III and I can boldly say for its size and performance it’s worth every penny. Lovely speaker. Hide the base module in a corner somewhere and it seems as though all the sound is coming from the direct reflecting speakers.Now I am about to buy this series V knowing that it may even be better. Big up Bose!

I am using a Parasound pre amp with either a Parasound amp or my SMSL SA93 class D amp to impress my non audio educated friends. Plenty of low end from the Acoustimass module. The issue your having is your gear. Also you need to remember the bass module is not a subwoofer. The module provides low bass, and the mid bass the cubes / new version speakers cannot reproduce. If your idea of shaking the walls in your house get a sub and some real power. If you want a good musical experience with a balanced bass response get decent gear and allow the speakers to break in. You will be amazed how well the new V series sounds. I am an owner of Vienna Acoustics, Bose Concerto 901's, and Monitor Audio silver series, Various Velodyne subs, Bose Lifestyle 5, and the new AM5 version V. My gear consist of Musical Fidelity, Parasound, Cary Audio, SMSL, and Denon.

Have now had these speakers for a couple of weeks and have to say they sound incredible. The mid and high range is crisp and clear, as good as I have heard from speakers in a far higher price range. If there has to be a down side the sub box lacks a bit of grunt and would benefit from a seperate power source, I have added my old Kenwood power sub to the setup through the amp with boosts it to the next level. Overall though the system certainly lives up to expectations and I would highly recommend.

I have two sets of AM 5 series II I bought over 20 years ago and I have them hooked up to my Oynko System and the sound is out of this world when I put a dvd movie just get your popcorn the sound is like your in a movie theater. I love these speakers. pleanty of bass shakes the house. Also the sound is super clear.I will put these speakers up against any name brand speakers. As for me these speakers are the BEST.

I am very happy with my Bose Acoustimass 5 Series V. I don’t know why some of the other reviews mention no bass because there is definitely bass and I love the look of the cube speakers. Great job Bose.

I bought my first set of AM-5's back in 92. They sounded great, I'm sure they still do, but lost them in the divorce. Bought another set 2 years ago, and love them just as much, if not more than the first set. I've always had great luck with Bose products. The customer service is OUTSTANDING!!!

I have gotten an Acoustimass V system with the jewel cube and these are my honest reviews... The sound honestly, is disappointing... The treble is serverely lacking(It lacks in the 12k Hz region), Mids are sounding a little compressed and the bass was non linear and distorted... In fact, some of the lower mids are played by the subwoofer instead of the jewel cube!... On the positive side however, The bass is extremely powerful and loud... The system would have been better if there were tweeters on the jewel cubes, improved cube speakers quality(play down to 100 Hz and have less distortion), ported subwoofer instead of a band pass and a lower price tag...

I purchased the Series 3 speakers in 1992. Used them in a home theater system till 2016. In 2016 I moved and carried them in the back of my SUV for 3 months. The past two years I’ve been using them in a stereo system. I simply love these speakers, the sound is amazing and just as great today as the day I purchased them. The design is perfect, one piece sitting on the floor and two small speakers on the self. While the base response is weak, the mids and highs spring to life. My old vinyl records come to life and take me back in time. Thanks for building such an amazing set of speakers.

I just bought bose am5 serie 5 in 3/2018. I use the amply fx audio d802-2x80w. Actually I do not see any bass in acousmatiss module 5. Bass is not clear.

I bought these speakers for an LG shelf unit CM3370 that I just purchased and wanted better quality sound from the speakers that came with the unit especially the bass. I have Companion 2 and 3 computer speakers which sound amazing, especially the Companion 3 series II which comes with an acoustimass module. I wanted the same quality of sound on my LG shelf unit. I purchased the Acoustimass 5 Series V and the sound is amazing. They blow the speakers that came with my self unit out of the water. I also took a chance and bought a factory refurbished unit which came in sealed original packaging and looked brand new and never used. I got this for $100 less than a new unit, it may as well have been a brand new unit. For those that complained about the lack of bass; Please look into where the bass module is placed. It will sound best in the corner of the room against a wall with the opening of the module facing outward. The unit comes with long speaker and connection cables. At the same time, make sure the speaker wires are connected with the right polarity to your receiver or amp. I know most receivers have red and black terminals for each channel, but my unit had one channel red and black and the other black and white. The speaker wires come with black and red ends. In my case, the red wire of the speaker pair must go on black terminal and the black on the white. If not connected this way the speakers work but there is no bass. Overall, great speakers and these sound great including the bass!

I purchased by am5 series II in 1993 while I was in the Army. I still own them and use them in my home theater set up. I have killed three AV receivers but my am5 keep ticking. The sound is just awesome, crisp clean highs and mids plus disturbing the neighbors lows. I too was hit my hurricane Harvey but because it was a hurricane and you have days of warning to prepare...the day before it made landfall I secured all my valuable possessions in a high elevation with waterproof containment such as pictures, computers, my Bose am5 and evacuated. My house suffered water and wind damage. All the items I secured were fine including the am5. Waterlogged bass modules for days or weeks are not poor craftsmanship on Bose, whole houses are being torn down due to water standing for days and weeks...is this due to poor craftsmanship? I own a multitude of Bose products and they all are of superior build quality, craftsmanship and sound. You get what you pay for in products and service.

I have these AM5's for around 6 Years. Due to Hurricane Harvey my home was flooded and the bass unit received water damage. Upon survey for this unit I realized how poorly made it is. Cheep press wood with toilet paper core rolls between the chambers. I get it that Bose won't replace the unit, but they can't sell a replacement so I can continue use of the cubes. They said the only thing to do is to buy a new AM10. They are not willing to help defer some of the cost or assistance in this matter. Keep in mind I have the following Bose products. I have 301's and a center channel. I also have 4 white outdoor speakers and 2 ea. headsets that are used when I go flying. I will no longer purchase or recommend any Bose products. I’m a week away from moving to my new house, I got these matched with the SA-5 amp for the livingroom and the Soundtouch 300 soundbar for the TV... Today I set it all up, took me 15 min. both the SA-5 and the soundbar, great for that! At the app renamed the sistems as TV and Living room and just for fun selected the “play all” IT SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!! Powerful bass, outstanding quality, the only thing missing to be an all star would be the homekit enabled feature. I can’t beleave 2 small speakers could deliver so well

I purchased the Bose AM 5 Series 2 speakers way back in 1995 in Sri Lanka. Everytime i hear the music it still gives me the same awesome feeling when i first listened to it. Over the years my Amplifier and CD player changed but never the speakers. I was originally planning to buy the Bose 401 floor standing speakers since it was out of stock and i couldn't wait so i settled down for Bose AM 5. I sincerely hope Bose will continue this awesome model till end of time, since its the best home speakers on earth for me.

I bought this to accompany our office micro system. The compact size and hefty sound has surprised and delighted everyone there. Our 50W per channel amp drives the sub and satellite speakers to high volumes when we need waking up during a late night project push and all with the stunning Bose quality of sound. At more office-friendly volumes the detail and clarity is excellent. I would recommend this whole heartedly to anyone considering it.

My Bose 5 Series, purchased in 2006, still sounds beautiful and looks like new. Especially nice is that the module can be tucked out of sight without sacrificing performance. I have high regard for Bose products and have bought additional since then.
