The thing I liked about my old bose speaker is that I could charge it and take it out side with me. This series 3, if I knew you couldn't charge it, I would not have bought it.
Disappointed u.

I love that I can listen to the music and charge my phone at the same time. Very good design and GREAT SOUND. It's actually very loud too, so I didn't have to turned up the volume much. I'm so happy that I just ordered another one for my dad. Very happy with the product. :)

Works fine with an ipod, sound's great, but trying to use the aux so I can listen on other things and that, so far, has not worked...

Bought this from the Bose shop in the Trafford Centre and took it back. The playlist function on the remote would not work on both my 10.2 iOS devices. Turns out that the Bose speaker dock on sale in the Bose shop were not compatible!

I have owned a number of Bose SoundDock's since they were launched and have always been a big fan. I have always said I would never switch to anything else. When I ordered this latest version and it arrived, I was horrified. While this latest model still provides quality sound, many of the features that made the previous SoundDock's so fantastic have been inexplicably taken away. Charging? There is no longer a light that indicates whether or not the battery is charged! Adjusting volume? Forget the simple buttons on the side... you now need to carry around a very tiny, easy to lose, separate remote! Convenience? There was an awesome handle for carrying the SoundDock around with you... now even that's gone! I can't imagine who in the company made the choice to wreck such an amazing product... but they are clearly out of touch with the features that made this SoundDock so appealing. Perhaps conduct a few focus groups next time and get to know your customers first? I really hope these features return in the next model. I'd happily pay more for the product to get them back.

I love it but one problem with if you have a case you have to take it out off the case to charge or listen to it. Other that that it great.

I originally purchased the Bose SoundDock XT and I was very impressed with it for the price I paid and it had a great sound to it but I was hoping for a sound that was closer to that of my Bose Wave Radio. A friend suggested that I try the SoundDock Series III. After setting it up, which was very simple, I docked my iPhone and got blown away by the sound quality for such a small unit. Bose really did an amazing job with this model. It looks great, doesn't take up much room, has a remote, and most importantly it sounds incredible!! A couple of people have commented in their reviews that they weren't happy about having to remove their phone's cases to dock them. You need to understand that phone cases come in a lot shapes and have various thicknesses to them so it would be near impossible for anybody to produce a docking station that can accommodate iPhone's while still in their cases. I have never seen or heard of any docking stations that do this.

Four dance teachers, including myself were provided with these new docking stations to be used in our studios. After not even a year, the wire you use to plug it in does not work, the machines are constantly unplugging themselves and the wire has to be held in an exact position for the music to play. Not to mention the place where you dock your iPhone is cheap. It's an adapter that plugs to usb and it always comes loose so the music stops playing. I am mostly disappointed with the quality of the wire plugging into the machine, it will no longer stay in place. Please note, these are used in the studios set up where there is no shock to them from where we dance. Out of four dance teachers, we have all experienced the same issues with the product. (four separate machines) If you have any intention of using the product for any longer than a year, I would tell you that it wont last that long.

I purchased this for a nice heafty price, about 1.5 years later the sound stopped working because where you dock the ipod - that part came very loose, so I had to move it around and hold it in place to work, it eventually just fell apart - the entire docking part came out. Very angry about this as it was awesome when it worked!

Just bought this to replace two docking speakers from other companies. Had both for years, loved them, but both have stopped working. Always wanted a Bose. Sound on this is great. Volume is better than either older system. However, the remote, which is the only way to control the system, is nowhere near as good as the other brands. My older systems would allow me to scroll through albums or artists. Apparently, the only way to maneuver on this remote is through playlists. I'm disappointed that a product the level of Bose doesn't give the control over my music that other, cheaper, products did.

I purchased a Bose SoundDock portable digital music system several years ago and love it. I wanted another to keep at our cabin. The one I have has a great rechargeable battery (lasts forever) or you can keep plugged in. This way, I could carry it outside and down to our dock. My current units "plug-in" section rotates inward, making transport easy. There are volume "touch" buttons on the side or you can use the remote. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that Bose would downgrade the features to what they are offering now. While the Bose sound is still awesome, I hate the unit because it is not portable-it's not what I need or want. Completely my error for not noticing before buying.

Trying to use with my IPhone 6. I've had a terrible time with the remote. Songs start and stop, start again. Sometimes won't play at all. Sound is good if you can get it to work.

To me, Bose name is enough and I wanted this product for long which fits my living room. I bought this product before Iphone 6 was launched. I went to bose Store, heard the sound and bought it. Though Apple IPod 6th Gen and Apple Iphone 6 has same inputs for docking still IPhone 6 do not play on this docking system. Also, it only supports Itunes and don't support supports apps like Pandora, iHeart Radio etc..

Great sound, but not MP3 friendly. A bit sorry I bought this system. Manufactures should realize that there are other devices out there

Also i have the Accoustimas system. cant fault any of them for sound or reliability. Hear them for yourselves. they are amazing. the only thing i would like Bose to look at supplying is a seperate bluetooth adaptor that you can plug into any of the connections.

Had the sound dock 2 for a few years and absolutely loved/love it. Just got the 3 for Christmas and am disappointed. There is no more battery to make it portable and you have to find the remote to turn up or down the volume, unlike last model with the integrated buttons. This model seems like a step back to me

No very handy because you have to take your iPhone out of the case for it to fit properly on the connection. Can't use it.

I love Bose. This is my 2nd docker I have purchased from Bose Co. The sound from something so small is just amazing. It is like having a stereo setup in a small box. I love that it has a port in the back to plug in other Ipods etc so that my older items aren't obsolete. I would have given it 5 stars but I miss buttons on the top for the volume like my old one has and I wish where you sit your phone or Ipod was inset like their old docker. It seemed to hold more stable.

This system has proven to be the IDEAL method for providing music to the 2 dance groups which I belong to and perform with. A huge 'plus' is that it doesn't need to be tethered to an electrical outlet when it is fully charged. Some of our venues are senior/retirement facilities and this little box has the VOLUME needed for those people with hearing problems. The remote works very well. I have also used the jack in the back with a microphone - just remember to remove the iPod as the system overrides the jack in favor of the dock. My Soundwave is about 5 years old. Portable. Dependable. Great Sound. A+++++

I bought my dock station several years ago. SN: 049867913480966AE I used it with my iPHONE 4S Now I have an iPhone 6 and I can't use it. My dock station doesn't have an auxiliary input. Do you have any kind of adapter compatible with my iPhone 6 that I can use? I'll appreciate any suggestions.

Awesome sound as before............ Lacking lithium battery with previous model, so must be plugged into AC, which I loved before. Also no volume control like previous unit. No carrying case with product like previous unit and in this day and age can we add blue tooth to the unit!!!! Overall great sound but lacking the simple things that made previous unit a top seller!
