Bose Free Space 51 Environmental Speakers, Green

Have had 2 pairs hooked to sonos amp for 3 years now, sound is perfect. Have so many people ask where the speakers are, since they allow sound from every direction with my set up around the pool & patio. One set is ~13 yrs old and the other ~11yrs old. Have survived a few hurricane floods and no damage to speaker or sound. Just had a single one get attacked by ants, and I think they did it in. No doubt in my mind will be replacing it with this same speaker soon.

I’ve had these speakers at the corners of our spa for over 13 years. They sound great. I haven’t noticed any degradation in sound. I have and old pioneer receiver feeding them. So nice to listen to great sounds at the Spa, while Pandora streams. A great investment!

I have a set of 251 outdoor speakers on one side of the house and this year I installed a set of the free space 51 speakers around the pool and couldn’t be more happy. Both sets are driven by SA-5 amplifiers. All the speakers and amplifiers work seamlessly together and are well worth the money. The SA-5 amplifier works flawlessly when it is hard wired to your network through a cat 5 cable.

I have 4 of theses speakers powered by my Sonos Amp. They are placed at each corner of my pool, patio. The combination is perfect. I run the Sonos amp volume at 60% and its nice and loud. I picked these speakers to get a 360 sound from each. They sound great!

I bought a pair 10 years ago and just added a second set. The original pair sound just as good as the new ones 10 years later. They hold up to heat and the cold!

I just had my landscaping done in the front and back of my house and I decided I should install these because I wanted to hear some tunes while in the pool or hot tub. These sound as great as my Bose Acoustimass 5 in the den. Great job Bose.

Bought a pair in 2004 for our backyard. Sound quality is excellent and the color blended in with the grass and flowers well. During the 15 yrs the pair have been flooded twice, we use almost everyday and they continue to work like the day we purchased. The only thing we've had to do about 3 yrs ago is repaint only because we wanted a fresh look. Totally pleased with our speakers and if needed we would purchase again without hesitation. We call them our old faithful because they always without failure perform as designed. We love them!

i have seen these speakers all around theme parks in the UK such as The Smiler and Icon and i can say they are great quality, and long lasting since the Smiler has been operating for 5 years and the speakers ares till going

When the speakers were new, loved them. I had to replace one. Luckily, it was still under warranty. Today, I only have one speaker that is properly working. Now, both are out of warranty. I may buy a wireless bluetooth set of speakers for a fraction of the cost.

I own two pairs of the Bose Free Space 51 which were submerged under water for 5 days during Hurricane Harvey. As the water had receded I allowed the hot Brazoria, Texas sun to do its job by drying them out. Afterwards, I reconnected my speakers to my stereo system and all four speakers sounds as they were originally designed to perform.

Just installed the speakers on the back side of my house near the spa and they sound awesome. They get real loud but I noticed that they sound awesome when they are a little low on the volume. What a great sitting in the spa and having some awesome background sounds.

These speakers are the best , had my for 11 years now , but this winter put one of them to rest . I'll be out to replace the both real soon. They own me nothing . Sound means a lot to me and Bose speakers do the job, thank you Bose. Paul F.

I have a a fairly large outdoor area, and I instead a pair of these along with two pair of Bose 251's, and my jubilation can't be contained. These speakers sound great as they cover such a broad area and the sound reflects off the ground and makes you feel surrounded by the sound instead of it being directed at you. I will add a second pair to complete my all ready amazing out door space as if you are trying to provide sound to two patios, a pool, a pergola, and fire pit space you need the quality and power of Bose to do so.

5* outdoor speaker. The speaker is really well camouflaged in most outdoor settings. I was recently in Abu Dhabi and they had hundreds of these speakers playing out in the city all playing the same music. After returning home from my travels I purchased the FreeSpace speaker and am hugely happy with the item. Glad I purchased this over the other options out there. Bose really live up to brand expectations. If your are after a weather resistant outdoor speaker, you really can't go wrong with this item or any Bose products for that matter. Great speaker, wish I could afford a stereo pair!

I figured after owning these speakers for over fives years it was time to write a review. I live just outside Chicago where we get really cold winters. These speakers have not shown any signs of cold or heat damage. And yes they have been outdoors since I bought them. And their sound is truly unbelievable. I have then hooked up to my 21 year old Yamaha receiver. Friends that come over cannot believe the deep bass sounds coming from these speakers. They always ask if I have a sub woofer hooked up. I cannot be any happier with the build and sound quality. I would highly recommend to anyone to purchase.

What a great sounding speaker! I have a fairly decent size yard and these fill it with high quality sound. Replaced a set of old in ground speakers that sounded good and with the 51's I just realized what i was missing

After a month of use, couldn't be happier. Sound quality is excellent. They are never going to win awards for looks but are suitably camouflaged and unobtrusive amongst the garden plants. I am using them with the SoundTouch SA-4 amplifier system, giving a rich background at lower volumes and a punchy vibrant sound with plenty in hand as the power is increased.
