Bose SoundTouch SA-4 Amplifier Package, Includes SoundTouch Wireless Adapter, SoundTouch Controller

This is the worst Bose have ever done with amplifiers, besides the good power the amp has everything else especially the soundlink adapter is working so so bad. The wifi connection with the adapter is lost each time you want to connect, and you have to setit up each and everytime after using it. The connection is covering up to 7 feet inside the room and lost once you are leaving the room even if it's 3 feet away from the adapter. The soundtouch controller is basically useless and best part is comming - you can only play the music they want you to play coming of iTunes any other app with your playlist is never going to work.

If you are looking to upgrade your SA-2 or SA-3 with the SA-4, watch out. It no longer supports Boselink. This new system only supports the streaming music and will not play local content that may be playing on your Lifestyle system. Also, the range on the new remote control is terrible. Typically only works in the same room the SA-4s are in. We have our SA's mounted in the basement powering our speakers out by the pool and another set in the kitchen. The remote control is pretty much worthless. The remotes that were on our previous SA's worked all over the hose and out by the pool without a problem. Very disappointing that Bose chose to remove features we have grown accustom to on the older SAs.

I bought an SA-4 when my speakers became obsolete because I had bought a CineMate system. I was able to move the speakers to a better room and use the SA-4 to power them wirelessly and hook them into the CineMate speakers when I wished. I couldn't be more pleased. It is very nice to get the system working from my iPad or iPhone and have the whole main floor connected. I also bought a SoundTouch 20 and a Portable. I listen only to classical music so the sound has to be good and true. Bose offers a much better product in this regard than the Sonos systems I have sampled

I had received a free set of Bose SE 151 Outdoor Speakers through a lottery contest and then I went out and purchased the Soundtouch SA-4 Amp. The hardest part of the install was getting the software to load on the computer. Once it was installed, my wife, daughter and myself loaded the app on our phones and everything worked great! Great sound, easy to use. The only thing I don't like is, I wish my MLB AtBat app would be able to work with the system so that I could listen to baseball games on my patio.

Like it but limited with mobile devices to play through system. only iphone-ipad Airplay compatible.

I don't mind paying a premium, I bought two amps and two pairs of 251's for my deck and patio. But I changed my network and can't get the controller connected, apparently it won't work with my new Comcast wireless system. I have to have a new network just for this, which my computer won't be on most the time for playing from my library. In addition, there is no balance control, nor treble or bass control. I've got two sets of aviation headsets a $1,000 a piece, and they are great, but this just isn't ready for prime time at this price.

I purchased the SA-4 to power my outdoor speakers and work together with my Soundtouch20. Set up was easy and quick. I'm now able to have the same music playing both inside and out or different music. The Soundtouch app is very intuitive which means I haven't even played with the inclosed remote.

Just like another reviewer, I had my outdoor speakers on a double zone receiver which wasn’t good at all. I was the only one in the house that could work it. Then I stumbled upon this and was sold, now I can control everything outside with ease. (On, Off, Volume control and stations-presets) The included remote was a huge plus. My wife and kids figured it out how to work it on their smart phones right away. It also works Seamlessly with Apple airplay and iTunes. Simply select “Outdoor Speakers” (What I named them) and your done. Love It. Will be getting another one for my garage. Hopefully Soon

The zone 2 with my Onkyo was just a hassle to enjoy the backyard. Now we are rocking. Great quality, great sound. Airplay movies for the kids outside, and great add to my equipment. Would recommend to anyone needing to separate the outside sound

I have been waiting for this device to be released and I am happy to have received it today. First, the device is what you expect from Bose, excellent sound quality and superior construction. This unit replaced a marantz 180watt receiver that powered my outdoor speakers and even though it lacks on the power at 100W, it seems to be loud enough. It was very simple to setup and it is a great addition to my soundtouch 30 with the play everywhere feature. Unfortunately, the soundtouch controller falls out of range when trying to use it in the main part of my house being that the sa-4 is installed in my av closet located in the basement which is where all my outdoor-indoor speaker wires terminate. I called tech support to see if I could use the 50' link cable to extend the soundtouch controllers base station closer to my main living space and they said it would reduce the amount of signal needed to communicate with the amp so it wouldn't work. I ended up configuring the soundtouch controller to be used my soundtouch 30 and I will only use the app to controll the sa-4. Besides the controller issue, the sa-4 has lived up to the bose brand.

I have been waiting for this unit. I have Bose 360 outdoor speakers. And having this unit a few days, it is just what the doctor ordered. Very easy to hook up to the internet and it guides you through a easy process. Speakers never sounded better, highly recommend. Pandora only internet music, looking forward to the additional music websites in the future. It is a little expensive but it is Bose. Still worth it. Love the apps on iPad,smartphone etc. controller a little less responsive, no biggie. Looking forward to purchasing additional sound touch equipment.
